My parent was sent here to do short term physical therapy, and to be closer to home. What he got was C. Diff on his 2nd day! The facility itself is more of a nursing home environment and although it says it's for short term rehab it wasn't worth the convenience of being close to home and I'm not even sure therapy was all that great. Really hard to tell because he was only there a couple of days before he was sent back to the hospital for getting C. Diff there. They at least recognized the symptoms and transported him right away but this has been a night mare for him and the family. I am very disappointed and infuriated that this happened because he can't get rid of the C. Diff and has been in and out of the hospital in the past 4 months, 5 time's for reoccurring symptoms. C. Diff is really hard to get rid of in senior's. Considering this is more of a nursing home environment, you would think they would have better precautions in place to prevent it. Instead of healing to come home from an injury, he has declined in health from the C. Diff complications.I don't have any comments about anything else because he wasn't there long enough to form opinions on care, physical therapy, staff, or food. I DO NOT recommend putting a loved one here for long or short term. The C. Diff exposure has cost my family a lot of money from treatment and exhausted all of us from him being in and out of the hospital so many times, including over Christmas which he spent in the ER for symptoms reoccurring. It saddens me to think that some residents there are probably left there by family members and forgotten because that is a reality for skilled nursing facilities.
