For several years we tried to get my mom to consider giving up her large home and moving into assistive living. With a history of falls and her lack of interest in participating in things she used to enjoy, coupled with the fact that her closest family members lived 3 hours away, she no longer was able to stay in her home by herself. After her last fall two years ago, she agreed to look into Commonwealth Senior Living in Onancock. This was the best decision we ever made! She has gone from a despondent individual to a social butterfly, enjoying all the activities and programs offered and has maintained independent living with the added security of round the clock support if needed. My husband and I can now continue to live out of state from her as well as travel without worries about her health and safety. She loves the consistency of the timing of her meals, her daily activities and the staff has been amazing! From program facilitators to housekeeping, those in the administration of the facility, and everyone else in between, Commonwealth Senior Living has exceeded all of our expectations and I recommend it to anyone considering the next step with their loved ones. It not only is a place for skilled nursing care but a wonderful place for independent living that engages its residents in everything from exercise, art, games and outings. The newly renovated facility is absolutely beautiful and inviting! See how welcome you and your loved ones will feel as soon as you step inside their doors!

My mother has been a Commonwealth Senior Living at the Eastern Shore resident for 3 years. During that time, she has rated the staff and facility multiple times as excellent. They are helpful, competent people who go out of their way to make sure Mom is well taken care of, safe, and included in daily events that are aimed at good physical and mental health. Sweet Memories is their new memory care wing with around the clock staffing and it's own dining area, recreation, and kitchen facilities. I strongly recommend a visit to tour the facility and see first hand all they offer. It is a welcoming homey environment for residents and family.

My mother in law lives here and she loves everything about it. The food is excellent, the people act like family and I have no doubt they are spoiling her. Couldn't be more comfortable with the love and care shown for her. Would recommend this for anyone

The first time I visited Churchland House, I knew this was where I wanted my 92 year old grandmother to reside. This facility has so much energy from the time you walk through the door and it starts with the staff. The facility is very clean, bright and welcoming. The staff members are professional and treat each resident and family member with respect and dignity. Leaving my grandmother here was the hardest decision I ever made, but I have peace of mind knowing she's well cared for here.
