DO NOT PUT YOUR LOVED ONE HERE!! I would give negative stars if allowed. According to the Administrator (who is not there anymore), the staff gets no training in working with dementia residents, and some did not have experience when hired. An aide was witnessed by two other aides, hitting a resident. However, the witnesses could not be found by the police to serve subpoenas for court. No eye witness means no conviction. No conviction means nothing shows up on a background check. So.. this aide will just move from facility to facility, and continue to harm dementia patients. Also, since the staff has no training, instead or redirecting an agitated resident (who allegedly was provoked by a staff member), they called the cops, who handcuffed the resident and transported to the hospital in the back of a cop car. This is how our elders are being treated. They are helpless. Abuse and neglect by paid facility caregivers s overlooked, as if our loved ones do not matter. It is disgusting, unprofessional, unethical, and illegal. The courts apparently dont have time to deal with it. Sunflower Gardens is not licensed separately now. They are licensed under Brighter Living Assisted Living. When looking for a good place for your loved one, do not consider this one!

I worked here they don't have good staff hiring anyone not checking their back round good enough. They fired me because another employee hit a resident and she lied saying I did it, I also had to go to court and the other employee never came to court. I have been in the nursing field since 2010. I also have a great grandma that has memory lost that I take care of. Not a good place for anyone. I was going to sue but the owner will see soon that better staff is needed to take care of the residences. Very unprofessional I wish them luck because of the elderly people, they have lost a lot of people do to neglectet. Something should be done about this but since the man that own the place also owns shamrock hotels he doesn't know the first thing about memory Care!

My father was a resident there and was not treated very well. He was heavily sedated and they did not feed him because he was always sleeping. I stopped in one day and spoke with a nurse there and asked her to show me how much he had been eating. When she pulled up the records she was a bit taken a back as he had not eaten in days. My family had a meeting with the administrator to discuss my father's care and things got a little better. My father passed soon after our meeting on the 10th of the month. We moved all of his things out of his room the next day as we were expecting to receive a refund for the part of the month that my father did not occupy the room so my mother could save a good amount of the months rent. Well they refused to refund the amount for the unused time to my mother and were none too friendly about it either. I would not recommend them to care for your loved one and if you do decide to use them, make sure you are aware of their refund policy.

Experience as a previous employee, they do a little too much for the little pay that they do offer. Front staff treat the other staff as if they are kids when everyone is adults. It was one of the worse facilities Ive ever worked for. Also, residents doesnt get the proper nurse/Dr attention that they need so everyone stay in and out of hospitals.
