I allowed by grandmother to stay here for 2 hours. Please note I tried to address these issues before posting the review by emailing the below to the admission coordinator and got not response. She arrived by ambulance after a hospital admission for a fall and UTI and was placed in a room. When I got into the room the bed was left in the air with zero side rails up and no access to a call light. She has dementia and needed assistance getting out of bed. A nurse in blue whose name tag said Waddell said on numerous occasions the following I hate when patients arrive at change of shift and everything's a mess, I don't even know how to do this allergy list, Dear Jesus, this is a mess. 2. I tried to introduce myself and ask simple orientation to the facility questions. Like do I need to get supper for her, what about her meds, I was told I needed to sign something. She nor anyone else offered to look up from their computers or cell phone. I got one word answers, without any eye contact and told they would bring her a supper tray at 530. Again heard how she hates getting patients late and having to rush everything. At 615 pm no tray, no person/employee comes by. Roomates family member begins to share how horrible the facility is and that the lady that was in the same bed my grandmther went to the hospital and died unexpectedly because they didn't take care of her good and waited to long to send her to the hospital. I see trays being collected and go back to desk inquiring about dinner, I would not have minded going and getting her something. Nurse with Waddell tag never looks up and says I told them.4. Less than 5 minutes later a tray is slammed on her bedside table. Her meal is in a to-go tray. Potatoes are cold, slaw is everywhere in the tray, and her chopped mystery meat was half on and half of the bun, cold enough that it never melted the cheese that was on the sandwich. Her tea and water were hot and had zero ice in them. No one asked if she needed help, offered to ask if I needed anything. I managed to find my own towel, a straw for her drinks, and used paper towels from the bathroom for napkins. Thankfully we had a disposable silverware pack from the hospital otherwise she would have had nothing to eat with. 5. 648 asks to go to the bathroom. 2 staff members arrive and ask me how she does the bathroom. I tell them she can use the bedpan or she can get on the bedside. Both of them look at each other and say We'll have to go to the building. We'll be back. 710 they arrive back with the pictured bedside commode, seat is broken at not attached, one leg is missing the rubber piece and the entire chair is leaning about 2 inches to the left. He then proceeds to try and transfer her; I asked are you really going to sit her on that and he and another female started in with I know we weren't prepared for her and we hate when they come in this late because it's hard to get what they need. We'll eventually get it all fixed. 6. In a matter of 10 minutes I had to say no less than 50 times that she is hard of hearing; talking to her in a normal voice is useless and you must give one instruction at a time. They also had no way to get her cardiac, antibiotic and other medications until almost 24 hours later which is not safe.7. Appearance: On our tour we were shown the nicest, cleanest, and maintained rooms. She was placed in a room with a sticky floor. I wiped a little of it with a wet paper towel and the towel was black. While I was trying to figure out how to get her tray under her bed for dinner, I looked under the bed because it would not go ( the bed must be raised in the air before it will fit) and found 3 pills. I picked them up and flushed them. The glass in the window was badly broken and the paint near the floor had visible splatters of something dark. Her bedspread and sheets had black hair imbedded in them.

This facility provided great care to my mom. The staff were dedicated and loving. They tried to help me and her adjust to her illness and end of life. They have a very hard job and get very little thanks but deserve a ton. I understand they are going through some leadership changes which I hope only help improve their conditions. We received nothing but respect and quality care.
