My Mother has made CSL her home for the last two years. She loves it there and has made many dear friends. Recently she became ill with the flu and the professional, caring and dedicated staff has taken great care of her. Danielle, Karla and Megan were working the morning she became ill and they were very caring ,knowledgeable and efficient. Jennifer came to the ER to check on Mom and personally got her prescription filled so she could start it right away. This was all done on Jennifer's day off. Kudos! The entire staff has been wonderful - from the front desk to the kitchen. Mom is happy and I'm less stressed knowing she is getting such great care. I'm so glad we chose CLS Front Royal.

Have a family member living at CSL in Front Royal since 2016. Can't praise the caring professional staff enough. In addition to meeting basic needs--like good food and clean safe living quarters, CSL Residents are offered a variety of daily activities aimed at engaging them in the surrounding community. This includes a line up of in-house activities as well as outings to local restaurants and attractions. There is something for everyone. Art classes, theater performances and weekly live music stimulate and entertain. Weekly exercise classes, tailored to each participants ability, keep people moving. Special activities that challenge the mind--like fun puzzles and group discussions of current events keep the community connected. There is a Community Service program where CSL residents undertake charitable projects that 'give back' to Front Royal. The facility is clean and well maintained. If a concern is voiced by a resident or family member, it is quickly addressed. The administration welcomes feedback as to how continued improvements can be made. The feeling I get when I visit is that the staff are truly invested in the well-being of the people they care for. It gives me great peace of mind that my loved one lives at CSL.

A little over six years ago, I took on the responsibility of caring for my grandmother who suffered from Alzheimers/Dementia. I looked at several different facilities to make the best choice for her - she deserved the best care! I was far more impressed with the staff and facility here at Commonwealth One Assisted Living Facility, once known as The Southerlands than any of the other local facilities. All of the staff genuinely care about the residents and their families. I visit on a regular bases and cant count the number of times Ive walked into overhear them compassionately calming my grandmother or another resident or witnessing their prompt attention tending to a situation of risk to keep the residents safe. There have been situations that I would consider going over and above that shows their love for the residents and their work. One time, when I couldnt get to my grandmother quick, Sara met with my grandmother (on her day off) at the ER to be with her until I could arrive. She text me later and the next day to see how she was and told me to reach out to her cell if I needed anything. Jennifer who has been caring for my grandmother since 2014 has shown my grandma so much love, given me her personal cell, sends me pictures and updates from time-to-time, lets me know when she needs things - a true blessing to my grandmother and I. Amber has been amazing with addressing any needs that have risen, worked with me in times of need and been my rock when feeling weak! There are so many more caregivers/staff that I could go on and on about - I appreciate them all and I know my grandma does too!!! It takes special people to have the patience and dedication to endure this type of environment day in and day out. Its definitely not for everyone. If youre looking for a home-away-from-home for your loved one, you need to come tour this facility and meet the staff! Praying for a cure!!

Not impressive. The building seemed dark and there was an odor of something that didnt smell good. The residents were all in there rooms. The building just seemed lonely.

My mother in assisted living and wife in memory care have been lovingly cared for the last 3 1/2 years. The care level is excellent. Their health is closely monitored by skilled medical professionals. They receive their medicines, get therapy, and regular grooming. Their rooms are cleaned regularly and the meals are well planned, balanced and savory. There are daily activities and regular special family oriented gatherings. I and my entire family are most pleased with the outstanding care my cherished mom and wife are receiving. In a difficult time of choosing a care facility, you can be confident that your loved ones will be lovingly and competently housed in a safe environment. Welcome Home is more than a slogan at Commonwealth. It is the guiding principle of Everyone of the dedicated team awaiting your trust to serve your most precious ones.
