Sunrise At Bluemont Park

My mother has been there for almost a year now so here's my observations:Pros: Staff there are in general, friendly. The nurse is great and she is very attentive, caring and proactive. She responds rapidly to questions. Her staff are very diligent in making sure that folks under their care take their medications. 5 stars for them.Cons: the food there is mediocre at best. The staff in the dining room are very nice. The housecleaning is not very good. I end up going over and vacuuming my mom's unit every week. Just don't keep any valuables in the room since they may disappear. I found petty theft of dish washing detergent, paper towels and deodorizer in my mom's unit. Pretty pathetic.

I want to let all of you out there to know that my Mother was in Sunrise at Bluemont park for a month and I am wanting to have her return next month but now I have experience a vicious act from Wendy the Asst. Executive Director of Sales. I have to say that everyone there is pleasant but Wendy. I found her to be a disgusting woman who is very insentive to an already sensitive situation in my decision to put my Mother in Senior Living. She implied (she might as well have right out and said it) that I go to the Catholic Church for financial help because 'Catholic Church has deep pockets!) I was beyond disgusted by her and what she said. She just wanted our money and had no care of our family situation. This woman need to be fired! Today, I was in the process finalizing the checkin of my mother there again and she pulled the rug from under us and gave the room to a 'walk in!' she had the Sales Assistant Danitte do her dirty work to tell me. The new Executive is out as of this writing but I am definitely letting him know how she does business. Bad business! Disgusting woman, that Wendy!
