I had my mom at Elk Meadows in Oakley Utah. This was not a good experience , they were always understaffed. I came one night and they had one CNA on shift for the entire building as someone called in. The CNA's were great and tried really hard to do their job, but just could not get to everyone who needed help. I sat with my mom to see how long it would take to respond to calls, mostly it would be anywhere from 20 minutes to 2 hours or not at all. Oh and they never ever answer the phones at night which panicked me if I could not reach my mom. The year she was there they had 3 executive directors and one of the ED's just walked out in the middle of the day and took the nurse with her???!!! the place had no supervision until they could fly someone in. I still praise the few CNA's sweet girls who cared for my mom, but if they were not there she didn't get her meals and was left wet to sit in her bed. We did have Hospice, and that helped if we would have had them to help as well, such as answer her call light. She fell out of bed one night and they did not find her for hours later. Blood was all over her face, a sight I will never forget. The food was horrible too, the cooks were always walking out. High school kids do not know how to cook at all! I am giving it one star for location.

My brothers and I are extremely happy with the care that our mother Nancy O'Connor is getting at elk meadows. She is not very outgoing or social and the staff go out of their way to accommodate anything she needs. The nurse on staff is very competent and professional. I give 5 stars because I don't have to stress about my mother's well beings

The Activities Director, Makaila, is so fun and outgoing. She really makes a difference on a daily basis. Ive never known an assisted living community to do so many fun things. This month, a group went out to visit Llamas on a farm. A few days later, horses came into the building to visit the residents. The Executive Director, Trent, is compassionate and you can tell he just wants the best for his residents. The location is lovely, the views out the lofted windows are beautiful. Peaceful and serenity, a good place to be...

Elk Meadows is a beautiful sanctuary! I am impressed especially with their memory care unit. The quantity and quality of staff attending to the residents is incredible. Walking into the open area of the unit feels like a home, like a family. You really cant even tell its a memory care unit. You have to see this place!

Visited my nieces grandmother and her husband today. I have visited other facilities here and in California and I have to say what a great place. The facilities and staff were so welcoming and accommodating about our visit. The residents were all well attended to and smiling. If I needed a place to place a loved one, Id surely make thus my first choice.
