Sitting on 33,000 acres, on the outskirts of Zion National Park, Best Friends Sanctuary is the largest animal sanctuary in the U.S. The grounds are simply stunning but more so, the incredibly dedicated people working here devote their lives to caring for and rehabilitating animals who come from abusive backgrounds of all spectrums. I did a variety of volunteering, my favorite being the Angels Rest (final resting place for the sanctuarys animals) and spent 4 nights in one of their cabins. The cabin had a kitchenette, is quaintly decorated with touches of their signature color, orange and is impeccably clean. Their vegan cafe rivals any trendy place in L.A. and overlooks the red and tan sandstone buttes of the Zion National Park mountain range.A visit to this place is simply life changing!

I myself have never been there, its a dream of mine to be able to come out there stay in one of the cabins, volunteer for them and help the animals, it would be the greatest vacation I ever had and I've been to some tropical resorts. But my love for animals go far beyond anything, I love working with animals, and also finding them furever homes.

My wife and I were traveling between national parks and had a random waiter tell us we needed to stop at Best Friend. We had no idea this amazing place existed. Where else can you snuggle kittens and puppies while supporting a great cause. Take the tour and donate.
