My sister and I are in the healthcare industry. We moved our 90 year old grandmother to Shiner Nursing and Rehab about 9 months ago from the Houston area. I toured 15 facilities in the Greater Houston area and I could not put my grandmother in any of those places. While Shiner Nursing and Rehab is not the most modern or up to date....the facility scores major points for cleanliness, friendliness of the staff, and the quality of care and food the residents receive. The center is in the heart of Shiner and several schools and community groups visit the residents. My sister and I hate being so far away from our grandmother...we only get to visit her once every few months...but I know she is safe and well cared for with residents similar to her in age, upbringing and moral character.
