Our father lived alone until he fell and broke his femur. After researching the different types of assisted living facilities, the family felt the residential care home would be a good fit for dad. We lined up quite a few tours. What we discovered was since dad was going to have a roommate, most of the bedrooms were really too small to accommodate two adults. Most don't have bathrooms and showers in every bedroom. Dad would have welcomed extra space to freely move around in his wheelchair other than his room. Some home facilities don't have this. We also realized dad didn't want to live in a two or three story apartment style living. Finding Heatherwilde Assisted Living in Pflugerville was what we were looking for. Bathrooms/showers in every room, extra living area and great food.Heatherwilde is a very comfortable and inviting environment, not to big but not too small. A good fit for dad.

My aunt lived at Heatherwilde Assisted Living for the past three years. We recently had to move her to a skilled nursing facility. This move was difficult for all of us, especially my aunt, as Heatherwilde had become home and the staff had become family. She left behind many friends, both staff and residents. I cant say enough about how supportive this group of people has been in helping me and my family navigate both the emotional and physical well being of my aunt. She still talks about them all and especially seems to miss the good cooking there. If you have a loved one that needs assistance, I wouldnt hesitate to recommend Heatherwilde. They will be there for your entire family.
