Seems as though patient care is no longer a priority. Ive visited my grandfather for many months and have come across him being thirsty, in the dark, and with bed sores unless certain CNAs are present. There are certain night shift personnel that makes me feel guilty if i complain about his accommodations. When brought up to the board member, Mr. Olivo, he stated there wasnt enough proof to explain my case. All I wanted was ice chips for my grandfather. But he gave us no choice but to take him home because we felt unwelcome.

For the week that my mother-in-law was in hospice care at Sunshine Haven in Olmito, TX, Mary was treated wonderfully. She was well taken care of and looked after of by the polite, attentive and knowledgeable staff, who always had time to answer our questions and visit about Mary's care. The facilities were always kept clean, and had a welcoming and comfortable atmosphere. I would not hesitate to recommend Sunshine Haven for a loved one's hospice care. Thank you so much Veronica, Maria and the rest of the staff for providing wonderful care in Mary's final days.

Sunshine Haven is Hospice Care, however, they keep their patients drugged up on morphine. Patients are given morphine 2-3 times per day which basically keeps them sedated. If you want to converse with your loved one in their last weeks or days, or leave hope for a miraculous recovery, go somewhere else! My mother miraculously awoke after we stopped their use of morphine, and we had her removed and back to the hospital. Shes in recovery now.
