Christian Care Center of Mesquite

It is the best place ever for seniors they have fresh food and everything seniors need. When I am a senior I am definitely going to this Christian care service!

My Mother was at Christian Care Center in September and October 2019. She lived in the Over 55 apartments across the street and it seemed like the appropriate place for her rehab care. The care she received was sometimes upsetting....the nightime aides were not very nice. My Mom was being given medicine with a diuretic so she had to urinate more frequently than usual. She did not have a bladder control problem. They told her to wear depends and would say things like ' you just went to the bathroom' when she would call for assistance. They would take 20-30 minutes to respond to her calls. I know this because I was often there and witnessed it. My Mom had difficulty swallowing her pills and asked for them to be crushed or cut to be able to swallow them and was told by one aide to 'chew it'. Another aide was forceful with her when helping her up and down. My Mother said they made her feel she was a bother and inconveniencing them. She didn't want to ask for help because of the way they treated her. I had several discussions with the Director and other administrators about the issues. I was there as often as I could be but not as much as one needs to be in order to make sure your loved one is being treated well. I caution you to be aware of these things and report what your loved one tells you.
