My 97 year old Dad was there for 1 month for rehab. (Rehab was good and most of the staff were wonderful.) Care while there ok but they lost 2 pairs of pants, 1 bathrobe, and a shirt; all clearly marked with his room # and name. Once I got a call saying he had no pants. Really? Another time I visited he was wearing someone else's pants. When he was released 4 items were still missing. I left a description of the items as requested and was told someone would call when they were found. 5 days later, no call, so I called and was asked to give a description of the items to the social worker who said 'How can I look for them if I don't have a description?' (hmm already did that but.. did it again) and was promised a call when they were found. So a few days later - no call so I called again. This time the receptionist who 'couldn' t find anyone for me to talk to' said 'Is your father dead? Why do you need his clothes?' 'Are they expensive clothes?''if it were me, I wouldn't have waited a week to call about them.' 'we've been busy - inspectors left last week' and 'I need a description of the items.' Then said she'd give it to yet another person who would look for them and call me back. 3 hours later, a call, not from the person who I was told would call but the social worker who was supposed to call me 3 days ago. 'we've found a couple of items that match your description. They were not labeled.' Well, what she described were not my Dad's. Not his size! (and his were clearly labeled!) I asked to talk to an administrator but she came back only to tell me admin does not cover lost items. That could have been mentioned when he first was admitted, though the laundry personnel had said differently. The 2 folks I spoke with on the phone were extremely rude and unprofessional. The only reason I had to raise my voice was to get them to stop talking and listen. Then there was the nurse that said I couldn't have someone bring my Mom to visit because she was in a wheel chair. And the nurse that I tried to talk to about my Dad's macular degeneration, who said to me in front of my Dad and Mom, 'He has dementia, he says all kinds of things.' Wow, this is supposed to be a 'good' nursing facility... I don't care to deal with a 'bad' one.

Had my grandfather admitted here and another Longview facility. Compared to the other facility, the staff is more caring and pay more attention to their patients. Billing staff are more knowledgeable and can explain each detail in the billing process. All for less cost then other facilities. Would place myself in their care when the time comes.

Horrible response time!!! Aides say they are short staffed.....not our problem!! Nurses station does not respond either. Patient in pain, and needing assistance to get him back to bed, this time is 30 minutes....still waiting!! Unacceptable!!!!
