I am very thankful for Village on the Park Steeplechase. My mom was one of the first to move into the new Assisted living wing over 5 1/2 yrs ago. There have been ups and downs with management over those years. Currently they have great management with Terri, executive director, and Ann, resident care director for Assistant living. They are doing a great job keeping everyone safe. The staff are so friendly and helpful for me. Receptionists/ helping front desk: Joantel, RC, Elizabeth, Morena, Holly. Med techs and aides: Charmion, Bernice, Sunny, Archie, Anna, Elaine, Ivette, Gaby, Macaula, Alondra, and more...so many wonderful and caring employees. Thank you for helping me with my mom in this chapter of her life.

Our mother moved into Independent Living in October 2018. VOP has been a good place for her. It is a friendly atmosphere and they care about the residents' well being. The Director, Terri and her professional staff, work hard to make sure the residents feel heard, are happy and stay safe. The front desk team, to name a few, Joantel and Elizabeth, are courteous, caring and strive hard to help in the many ways they are needed. Juan and Andres, Maintenance staff, work hard to provide a well maintained and lovely facility. They have always been kind and willing to assist the residents and take care of any needs that they have. Holly/Activities Director is friendly and open to providing creative ways to gather the residents under this new 'normal'. Management has done a good job communicating each week and keeping everyone informed, which has been very helpful during these unprecedented times. We are grateful for VOP and recommend it based on our positive experiences.

My mom has been here in Independent Living for just over two years. Initially pretty good but has gone steadily downhill. Complete change of staff several times over including at least 3 managers. The latest is another interim. In the dining room there are NO provisions or choices for heart-healthy, low fat or low salt diets. There have been 5-6 chef changes in the time shes been here. The one good one did not stay long. Despite what we were told initially and is still listed on their website, there is no 12 hour continuous dining. Breakfast is 7:30-9. Lunch is 11-1:15. Dinner 4-6:15. Other than those hours the dining room is closed and residents line up in the hallway waiting for it to open. Come later and items may not be available. And the rules change with no notice. Apparently as of today, a meal for a visiting guest or family member requires an $8 cash payment at the table instead of being charged to the residents account by voucher. Poor response for maintenance despite multiple calls and visits to the front desk.Yes, the apartments are larger than at other facilities but had we known then what we know now, wed have made a different choice. Do yourself a favor and look elsewhere.

Can't say enough good things about this facility, and everyone that works there. They are awesome! Moved our 92 year old mother in there, and it's been a blessing. The food is great and they always have activities and things going. In todays environment it's comforting and nice to find a facility that really cares about their residents. Great place.

I have had very positive experiences here. There are activities for ever interest and are options on activities throughout the day.
