The Addington Place of Clear Lake

My Mother was in Autumn Leaves for 3 weeks. We were given an awesome song and dance presentation. After what we thought was a thorough discussion with management about her medical needs, we moved her in. Three days later, on a weekend, we stop to check on Mom and the staff had no idea and said they knew nothing about her medical issues or her needs!! Several meetings and emails followed. Three weeks almost to the day we moved my Mother into Autumn Leaves, she left there via Ambulance...severely dehydrated, malnourished and a serious UTI infection. Her heart could not recover from this and she passed away. This is a Memory Care facility, these patients can not speak for themselves. Whereas most of the help that works here were very nice, they are trained in nothing to CARE for their patients. This place in understaffed so everyone is busy just trying to get their job done and no time to Care or interact with the residents. Very sad.

Words cannot express the admiration we have for Autumn Leaves Clear Lake. I visited 30 different Assisted living & Dementia care facilities in the Houston area for my Mother in law. In addition to being the top of my list, a good friend who had her parent there gave us a glowing report. Our Mother lived there for 2 yrs. The environment is very secure, safe, elegant, extra clean, smells good, and home like. The food is absolutely delicious, nutritious, & plentiful. The staff were so loving , attentive, and well trained. All they do is Dementia care and everything is geared to meet their special needs. I loved the way they worked with us to know our Mom and how to meet her needs. We experienced so much quality love & care from the staff, the administrator, and the nurse that when it came time to find a place for my Dad, we moved him in also. Its worth every dime. I felt like a ton of bricks had been lifted off my back when they became our partners in the care of our precious parents. There is no perfect place for your dementia parent even at home, but Autumn Leaves Clear Lake is #1 in our book !

Cant put into words how pleased we were with our overall experience with Autumn Leaves, but will say that when faced with the difficult task of finding care for our elderly loved ones, AL checks all the boxes. The facility is always clean and cheery. Doesnt have that dreaded old person smell. The staff quickly became more than staff...they became family. Unfortunately my loved one had a fairly short stay, but while she was there, she was treated with gentle, caring hands who quickly learned her likes, dislikes and quirks. The food was always hot and decent, the activities were appropriate for the clientele, stimulating and fun. The nursing staff...especially Amy...left me feeling like my mom was being cared for by a family member. Very attentive, professional and knowledgeable. When faced with end of life issues, AL could not have gone further to help my family and I feel comforted, and more importantly, be sure that my mother left this earth in loving, caring hands. Thank you Annie, Amy and all of you at Autumn Leaves.

We stopped by unannounced from out of town to see my 90 yr old grandmother the day before Mothers Day.. We brought lunch that needed to be heated up and no plates or plasticware.. The staff was really great.. they gave us a private dining area to spend time with my GMother.. got us everything we needed to eat a meal and heated up the food we brought !!!They went above and beyond to make sure my GMother had a great visit.. The facilities were very clean.. I went to my GMothers room to place some pictures we brought.. the beds where made.. everything was in order.. there were NO strange smells... the young ladies running the facility obviously cared about each of their wards and were very friendly and organized.. they had walky- Talkys on their hips, keeping in instant and constant communication..Unfortunately I cannot remember the name of the efficient and enthusiastic young ladies that helped us but Thank You So Much for making our time there special..we had a really great experience at Autumn Leaves ....
