Several years back my Mother lived at Clarewood House and our entire extended family learned quickly to look forward to a visit and at times, a meal.I met over a dozen residents and all were happy people who not once had any complaints.I most certainly recommend Clarewood House.

I came to sit with a patient today at this facility. It's a lovely facility but I ran into some rude people that work here. I was alerting one of the staff that my shift was ending and I just wanted to let someone know that my patient would be alone. She responded by saying uh hum. And didn't even look at me. So rude and unprofessional.

I toured 10 other facilities and had experience with my father's stays at two other facilities before choosing Clarewood House Extended Care Center (ECC) for my mother. She has been there for the past five months and is very happy. U.S. News and World Report ranked them 'above average' in their 2017 evaluation of skilled nursing facilities. I would recommend reading the report to compare facilities. My mother has diabetes and a heart condition and the staff are very attentive to her medical needs. The staff are very pleasant and responsive to our requests. Their physical therapists are experienced and professional, moreso than what I saw at other facilities. The grounds are beautiful and the facility is kept clean. My mother enjoys the food, social activities at the ECC, and the beauty salon. In addition, because the ECC is attached to the main building, which houses assisted and independent living, she is also able to attend church services, performances, and other activities in the main building, which gives her even more opportunities for social interaction. Clarewood House is located near the former Sharpstown Mall. Although the area has declined, the Clarewood property is fenced and gated. If you are looking for a place for independent living, assisted living, rehabilitation, memory care, or skilled nursing, I would recommend that you tour and consider Clarewood House.
