Those that put to find a better place and that the nurse's are bad are not lying. Food is terrible. They don't care. They take forever to check on the patients. Good thing some was their to watch my mom.

I've been ill for the better part of 15 years. My memo lives there..I suggested to over Retama in Raymondville. I have been to all the nursing homes in the Harlingen medical community, and wouldn't go anywhere else. Get ill from infection often. Reading some of negative reviews I can onl y say that the patients family usually abandon there elderly. Then some expect miracles from the staff...I've witness it time and time again. The staffers are my friends and family now...especially Mindy Munoz , bless you sweetie. It's been a long road for me...glad I'm not alone. 's you.. Eloy

My father is entering into his third week here. He was hospitalized with a stomach virus. After two days in the hospital he was told he would need in-patient rehab. He vehemently said 'no way, no how!'. He is 83 and has long feared going to a nursing facility. After 6 days in the hospital, and after dropping from 153 lbs to 138 he was ready to go and fully realized he could not care for himself. The staff at Veranda is wonderful. From the assistants who helped him to the restroom to the RNs who gave him his pain meds to the PT/OT therapists, everyone we met was highly professional and extremely friendly and polite. He has been very happy with the meals and the way they are served. He checked in on a Sunday night and by Friday he told me 'I could see staying in a place like this'. That's really all I needed to hear to give Veranda a 5 star recommendation. I'm very confident that when he is released to go home he is going to be in far better physical and mental condition than he was a year or two ago.
