My mother lives at one of their complexes. Her rent just keeps going up! Dont these people understand that seniors live on a fixed income!? All they do is scam older people to get more $$. Im filing a complaint. Its awful how they treat seniors!!!!

Horrible. I had the worst experience with the leasing agent at Merritt Hill today. Not hyperbole. The worst sales/customer service I've ever experienced in person, in my life. My 77 year-old mother and I went to check out this property and get her on the waiting list for one of their 'affordable housing' priced units. My mother called when we were on our way to ensure that someone would be there between 12 and 1. Instead of answering my mother's simple question, Katie tried to assess whether my mother was looking for a full market rate unit or one of their required 'affordable housing' priced units, which left my mother flustered. Katie was in the office when we arrived at 12:28. She shouted at us to sit down from another room and told us she'd be with us in a moment. We waited. She came in a few minutes later: without introducing herself she started spewing out information at us a mile a minute, repeated several times that one of the waitlists (not one my mother qualified for and we told her that more than once) was closed, and let us know that she had a 1pm appointment a couple of times (most likely someone looking for a market rate unit.) I was simply stunned by her approach and behavior--the utter lack of even the pretense of good manners or professionalism. I interrupted her and asked for her name and introduced my mother and myself (in the hopes that she would realize how rude she was being and self-correct), which must have flustered her because she became borderline aggressive at that point. She was incredibly rude and condescending to my mother, basically steam rolled and infantilized her. Why do people treat the elderly like they're disposable and/or like they're children? They're neither. My mother is a kind, gentle woman with a master's degree--she served our community in the nonprofit sector as a dedicated hospice nurse for 35 years. Believe me: she deserves to be treated with dignity and respect despite the fact that she's now in need of an affordable housing solution that may not bring in the commission or dollars the leasing office is looking for. It's almost unforgivable to treat our seniors with such disrespect, worse--blatant disregard. Slow down, have some empathy, and remember that we're all going to be seniors someday too (if we're lucky!). Katie has no business being in a job that puts her in contact with that demographic when she clearly doesn't have an ounce of respect for them, and I question the integrity of any business that would employ such a person in that role for five years. **** Also, please note that the only 5 star reviews are from guides or the like. The real people who've interacted with this staff have terrible things to say.
