The place is beautiful from the outside but please, please do your homework and get everything in writing. For a mere $5,700/month, they basically offer room and board with mediocre food. We started with 8 months of just day stay which worked well; but once we signed permanently, after a month they insisted we send our loved one to a behavior center (psychiatric hospital) to have meds adjusted. WORST advice ever! Who sends Alzheimer patients to a psyc hospital? We of course thought we were listening to professionals but not the case. We had no where to turn and thought they knew what they were doing. We were also offered a month free rent but 2 weeks of that was taken away because it was not in writing and the ED got very defensive and said she never said it nor did she have the authority to say that! They have no monitors in hallways; no door chimes to know when residents leave rooms but yet constantly complain residents go into other rooms; take someones wheelchair, walker, etc. It's a memory care facility! Asked if they could tell us if our loved one was sleeping at night and they said it's not their job to monitor that. The workers seem like they are not allowed to communicate much with you because Tonya doesn't allow it. They want your money but then tell you that you have hire 24 hour care in addition; maybe $10,000 a month for both? Who has that? I believe we were told this was because I sent them my daily logs of occurances and had also contacted the local ombudsman, which did not go over well. Keep your eyes open and keep notes! Needless to say at our new facility, they have taken him off all the psyc meds as they said they are the worst and his care is soooo much better. They monitor him and even send us pics thoughout the day. PLEASE PLEASE DO YOUR RESEARCH. THERE ARE SEVERAL RESIDENTS FAMILIES THERE WHO AGREE WITH US BUT DON'T KNOW WHERE TO TURN.

Families will find the Avanti Towne Lake staff quite empathetic and deeply knowledgeable about senior care. Their unique Wellness Program will keep your loved one fit and sharp of mind. I'm looking forward to working with Suzi and the team!
