Great nursing home, worked here few times as an independent contractor for various hospice companies. Had great interactions with the staffs. Some are more caring than others. Only here few days till the patient expired in most instances. Some of the comments from others are not so encouraging. Do your research and God's speed always. Amen

This company does not take care of business. My husband died nine months ago and am still waiting on refund. No one returns calls.

Settlers Ridge has two different sides of services, one side is full time residence living & care and the other is temporary rehabilitation for physical and occupational therapy. My husband had spine surgery and was unable to walk and was extremely unstable by himself after and I needed to find a place that would be able to be a safe and clean with experience to help him get stronger and try to walk again. I had interviewed several places that were close to our residence. The interviews had been good and bad, when it came to the Settlers Ridge I met up with Greg and Amanda had sat with me for awhile and answered all of my questions and I became more comfortable to make a decision but that particular day I had another one to interview before then. That next day I did contact the hospital contact that worked with Settlers Ridge to make sure they could hold a bed for him and she contacted Greg and reassured me that they would no matter how long it took the hospital to discharge him since they kept changing the day of discharge. It was apparent to me that there had been a lot of hands that needed to be involved in my husbands care of transfer to Settlers Ridge and it did not go as smoothly as I had hoped but it did eventually work it all out and he made it in the evening and the staff at Settlers Ridge received him and tried to help and do what ever they could to help get him settle for the evening. The PT came in the next morning and evaluated him and the OT did the same thing so they could begin a program for his recovery. They had started him with the program and he did not have any strength at all and thankfully after 20 days he was stronger & was stable enough to go home and be safe. The Settlers Ridge had changed him in so many ways from his physical and mental state, the staff had so much to do with all of that. The PT, OT, LVN, RN, CNA , Housekeeping, Maintenance, Management staff, Kitchen staff...lol they could use some changes in that department. We did not like the foods served there and could not imagine inducing it on a daily basis. The grounds are okay, they do look much better on there website and brochures and not so much in person. They could have a little more continuous cleanup on the grounds to make it look a bit more appealing. They had a beautiful set up for Thanksgiving and Christmas and the family dinner was very enjoyable. They take safety for their patients very seriously so that was important to us and feeling safe around the staff. The staff we just fell in love with and became closer with in a very short period of time. Gwen that provides the residences with special treatments is so pleasant and professional. There is such a friendly and warm feeling throughout Settlers Ridge that you truly feel like its that right place to be. Thank you everyone for taking care of my husband Dennis O

Do not entrust your loved ones, or your enemys loved ones here! I am appalled at not only the level of patient care, but the level of professionalism and client services they provide. Absolutely horrible facility and management.

Our family member is a diabetic and was supposed to come home with us after a 20 day rehab stay. The day before he was supposed to come home, he went into a diabetic low blood sugar coma. This is due to total incompetence of the staff. The night time nurse said that he was 'talking crazy all night' and 'hallucinating all night'. So apparently he was suffering from low blood sugar all night and eventually they called us in the morning saying that he was 'unresponsive and not able to wake him'. My wife went up to the facility and HAD TO FORCE them to call 911. This happened two weeks ago and he is still in trauma unit at the hospital with diagnosed brain damage. Do not place your family members in this facility- untrained, unprofessional, incompetent, It is common knowledge that when a diabetic is having mental issues (confusion, hallucinations) that their blood sugar should be checked. No such step was taken by the staff the entire night.
