Oak Ridge Manor Skilled Nursing & Rehab

I have been struggling with finding placement for my step dad for quite some time now. He is currently on a vent, and due to only having blue cross blue shield insurance, we are unable to find long term placement. His blue cross only allows up to 14 days of coverage in a nursing home. He currently is staying in a LTAC facility. For the last six months, we have been trying to find a way to get him transferred out of the LTAC facility and into long term care, but due to his insurance we were unable to do so. Elizabeth, the marketer with Oakridge, has been absolutely amazing and helpful with this matter. Even though she was unable to accept my step dad into her facility due to his high acuity level, she has helped our family initiate the application for Medicaid, and get the process moving along. This has taken a TREMENDOUS load off of our families shoulders & truly blessed our family. She is a God send! I can't thank her enough for taking the time to help us out even though it did not benefit her company. She helped because she cared. We need more people like Elizabeth in the medical field. Out to help who ever no matter what. Thank you Elizabeth! We appreciate all you have done for us!

The nurses aid yelled at my mother repeatedly and one day he yanked her out of bed by her arm and pushed her around. He wanted her to go to breakfast. She was there for rehab and hadn't been there long. He Caused irreversible damage that still affects her today (years later). We skipped their rehab program and took her out of there. Ive heard of other incidents since then.
