2 stars for sad, ugly rooms. Dirty walls in the bedrooms. Asked for touch up paint and all they did was scrub the walls which rubbed off the paint. Ugly pickled pine furniture in the room. (Circa 1985!) Blinds are broken and dingy. Requested replacement. Didnt happen. For the cost, I would think fresh paint and furniture isnt too much to ask. We need to do better for our seniors!! Its Depressing. Greedy owners could maybe take a few less $$s and make the rooms cheerful instead of dark and dingy. Shameful. The staff is kind and underpaid. But there arent enough activities. Transferring her to a more cheerful, updated community.

How dare this horrible place call me 7 months after my Beautiful mother died! And they have the nerve to ask me rather than place my review on public sites, to please put it on thier website! Really? How awlful of a question to ask? I am appalled! Why would they ask this of me? First off my beloved 64 year mother, who was diagnosed with Stage 4 Pancreatic Cancer, which had mesasitized to her spine, had major surgery on her spine. She then was recommended to go this horrid place, for rehabilitation. She stayed there less than 1 month. She had great health insurance and her Medicaid was soon to be approved. After about 2 and half weeks in this place they told us that her insurance was going to stop paying for her stay here. They said if she was to continue to stay here we would have to pay for her stay out of pocket, be billed excessively, or she had to leave. They stopped giving her physical therapy even. They bullied me into paying $800.00 to them so my mother could stay. I was even told I would get this money back once the insurance issue was cleared up. That never happened. There was never a real problem with her insurance. Someone in the office, at this facility, just did not do their job. Not only that, but a nurse there would bully my mom at night time. Telling her she has to pay for her medications. They did not give her the meds properly. Sometimes not at all! She suffered in terrible pain. Her bathroom was always in deplorable condition. We constantly had to ask them to clean it. Her stay here was a horrifying experience. My mom was 64 years old. She was a straight minded, well together woman. Her stay here was meant to rehabilitate her and prepare her for the fight of her life. All the stay here did was deteriorate her health more. It was stressful. They treated her awlful. She was not even fed properly. Sometimes not at all. She was forced out and made to go home on Sunday, November 11,2018. And on Friday, November 16,2018 she awoke paralyzed. She was placed in hospice care, inpatient downtown Ft Worth. There she stayed until she died on Christmas Eve, December 24,2018. I never got my $800.00 back. But we know the insurance paid. That money could have been used towards her cancer care, her funeral, her gravestone. It is dirty of Parkwood to do this to our family. Especially my mom. Everytime I walked in there, which was everyday, the elderly were sitting in dining room drooling, sitting at tables that were filthy, and they looked so sad. Do not trust this facility to care for your loved ones. I am shocked they called me and had the nerve to request anything of me! That is so inhuman :(

I had a great time here at Parkwood. I am discharging today after a 3 week stay. I am 72 years old. When I was in the hospital, I was told I would need oxygen for the rest of my life. The 1st week here I was in bed and on oxygen and thought I would be tied to that. But with therapy and attentive staff I was able to progress off oxygen within 9 days. The food is excellent. The best hospital food I've had, and I've been to a lot throughout my life. Housekeeping is excellent as well. They addressed and resolved any issues immediately. Therapy is amazing and I was shocked at how good it was. I would recommend this place to anyone and everyone including family and will be back again if I ever need it.

I can tell you that I stayed at Park Wood Health Care, and found EVERYONE, to be kind and encouraging. From my aids, Rhoda , Vo and Precious, my nurses, Susma, Wendy, Mary Jackie,my therapists, Sagel, Karen,, Erin ,Katina, Mina ,Amy , Lauren, Charles , Robert. Michelle if I left anyone out, Beverly, please charge it to my mind, not my heart, Tommie. Here's the thing, it's not a place to go to,and take a vacation, you go there to get top-notch THERAPY. You can't expect anything but getting better, that was my goal, and with their help, I achieved it.. I'm now home after having a massive stroke that paralyzed my right side of the body.To EVERYONE at Park Wood Health center, may GOD BLESS.

My wife has been in the Parkwood Memory Care unit for 1 1/2 weeks. I am impressed with the kindness and attention of the staff. They are responsive to my suggestions for care based on my knowledge of my wifes condition. Physical therapy will start soon but is delayed due to healing required.
