I took my mother there for a tour on a weekend. There was nobody at the desk when we entered. We waited 15-20 minutes before a gentleman appeared from behind the desk to give us a tour. The apartment we saw was not quite what we were looking for so we asked to see another one. The gentleman told us he could not show us another apartment but we could get what we were looking for as they had 30 or more apartments vacant. We were there for about 40 minutes and saw no evidence of activities or engagement with those that lived there. This place is off our our list of consideration.

The staff is stellar the food is fabulous and the apartments are the largest of any community in the area. They are undergoing a huge renovation and it is beautiful. I highly recommend it.

My mother in law lived in Wellington's assisted living and skilled nursing facilities. Now, my mother needs care and is currently in skilled nursing. While the facilities are beautifully kept and updated, I do have concerns regarding their staff. There was an incident where an aide stomped around the room throwing and kicking things while my husband was visiting his mother. A call to administration later and that aide was no longer there. She was also catheratized because they didn't want to keep helping her get to the bathroom. My mother's first night had an aide leaving her with a bed pan and no assistance after repeated calls for help. This is the risk family takes with any facility...it is unacceptable and heartbreaking, but a reality. Stay on top of your parent's care and call administration with any infractions. Don't assume anything. Even the small details like dentist appointments where Wellington arranges for transport but fails to send a person along to ensure their residents have care while they are there (that happened too, with my mother in law). No matter where you take your loved one, stay vigilant and manage the details.
