My Mother was a resident of the Carleton Health Care and Rehabilitation Center in Wellsboro (PA) for over five years. For every day of her residence, I was very pleased with the quality of compassionate care and specialized services she received. As she was in the progressive stages of Alzheimer's Disease, her individual needs changed gradually over time. And with each decline in the quality of her life, the Carleton Administration and Staff effectively addressed each aspect that required additional attention or modification in her daily routine.Because the Carleton is a smaller facility, the attention is more personal.My Mother was treated with kindness, genuine concern, and good humor.I was continually kept informed of the status of her health and mental abilities. Whenever I raised a concern it was attended to promptly with a follow up review.The Carleton provided care we could not provide at Home. Therefore,I am PROUD to say The CARLETON became my Mother's Home.Elder care, especially for those with Alzheimer's or other communicative disorders, is very difficult for ANY facility. The Carleton went on this sad and challenging Life Journey WITH us. I LOVE Carleton Rehab Center on West Ave., in Wellsboro. What a great place to send your loved ones who need that extra care that you can no longer give. They treat all the patients as though they are part of their own family. Their rehab facility has the nicest therapists who treat each person with such kindness and respect. Their goal for each one is to help them be the best they can be in their present circumstances. My dad had a stroke which left his right side very weak and his right arm not usable, however, this home got him built back up to be able to walk again with a hemi-walker. It's been amazing to see what they can do. The nurses are excellent and the aides are amazing to me with all they do for each and every patient. One day when I went to the dining room, I was visiting with my dad, and a man at his table was thoroughly enjoying his meal. He said, 'They have good eats here...good eats'. That stuck with me and I've chuckled many times just thinking about it. My family is truly blessed to be able to have our dad there. They work with you and keep you informed of changes in doctor's orders, patient status, and any concerns they may have.I would highly recommend Carleton Rehab Center in Wellsboro.

I would never EVER send a family member here again. My grandfather came here for physical therapy rehab. The staff refused to help him walk, leading to bed sores. After complaining four times about his sores, they still left them untreated, which then turned into extremely painful ulcers that never healed. On top of that, the staff were very demeaning to him and my family. Be very cautious about this place, I dont believe patient safety and satisfaction are their priorities.
