Your place is beautiful when you walk into the door. It does not have that smell as most places do. Prepare for tirius set up like a restaurant with a menu. And the Room door shut up like Apartments . The management lacks a follow through with anything they start. And the doctors you have to Chase her days to get anything done. And they are not the service dog friendly. Although they all the staffs dogs to run around at will

I am a resident in the Independent area of Chestnut Ridge (since June 2018) & am extremely happy with my decision to move here. I have been impressed with the quality of care & concern shown by the staff, who are very approachable & concerned with everyone's well-being. The building is always clean & neat & nicely decorated at each holiday. There are activities available, if you are inclined; and transportation is easily obtained if you need to go to a doctor appointment or shopping, Meals are available in a cozy dining room. I made a wise & happy decision to make Chestnut Ridge my new home.

The distasteful and unhelpful response from the front desk lady Carolyn was enough to make me burn all the rubber from all 4 of my tires exiting that parking lot. NO THX! We drove so far too after speaking to a nicer Chuck earlier that day. Oh well... Similar to a daycare, pleasant staff and atmosphere is very important when considering where to send your loved ones esp the elderly. I am very thankful for Carolyn and her wart-like personality yesterday and today. We were almost fooled and actually cringe now at the thought of my grandmother living here and potentially being tended by someone like that. Yikes.

I would say that the most of the staff work hard to care for the residents. They are understaffed and the building is lacking in upkeep. This is likely due to the managing company. It used to be a nice place until they took over. Elevators are consistently breaking down, the carpets need to be replaced, kitchen is understaffed, and the equipment failing, the menu is horrible if you are on a heart healthy diet. Change needs to be made and fast. I really want to see this place a nice place to live again.
