There has been bruises on my mother. At one point, her finger was bruised due to her wedding ring being removed. When a reward was mentioned it miraculously appeared at the front desk. No one had a clue how this happened. The staff does not document these injuries. When questioned, all I get is that nobody knows anything. The place often has an offensive odor. I've seen a nurse argue and push a resident to be hostile because she thought it was funny. They are short staffed often. The staff talks around the residents at meals instead of TO THEM. Often regarding personal issues. The staff hurries in undressing my mother because her clothes are all inside out when I wash them at home. They wouldn't put socks/shoes on her till I approached them about her being made to ambulated in socks with peds. Staff was not aware of the significance of wearing shoes on her for better balance and control to avoid falls. It seems whatever is quickest-that's the norm for this place. At least half the CNA's do not make eye contact when talking to them.....making me suspect they are not trusting. I would never recommend ANYONE placing their loved one here.

I just got here my call button is on the floor. I'm nauseous and still waiting for the nurse the food is nasty everyday it's something else they lost my underwear and socks. I wasn't offered anything to eat after i didn't eat the terrible food. It's like nobody cares note. I want to thank the supervisor for the quick response. I don't usually complain .. one thing i have been in this field and i know it's tough and short staffed. God bless.note if the patient doesn't like the food and asks for a grilled cheese sandwich but the kitchen says they have no more. So you let the patient eat nothing. The pt staff were good just talked too much to each other. There is a lot of good staff but some are just going through the motions. Especially overnight. The activities person was excellent.

I was very disappointed with this place and the care they give .they don't do bed checks and all I see when I'm there is them talking at the frontdresk and this is in the rehab section and they are very unprofessional and lazy to me and know I wouldn't require this place to no-one and the call bells ring for anywhere from 10min to30mins

My grandfather recently relocated to Manorcare. So far, it has been a good experience, and I'm hopng that the lines of communication remain in place throughout his stay. No one can replace the care that only a family member or loved one can provide, but I do believe the staff truly cares...just defeated at times with staffing issues. Trust me, I'll share ALL reviews as needed. #stayinvolved

Getting a phone call to my Mom is very difficult. I've been waiting over twenty minutes. This is the only way I have to speak to my loved one as I live out of state. I am disappointed to say the least.
