The admissions staff at Penn Village does an excellent job making the transition into the facility as smooth as possible.

Overall, we had a horrible experience at this facility. The nurse who did the intake didn't introduce herself, tried to get us to sign a blank treatment plan, and offered absolutely no orientation. When we declined to sign the blank plan she responded ' well, you're going to have to wait for the doctor and that may take some time.' How can we sign a treatment plan if we don't know what the recommendations are for treatment? Later, when I approached the closest nurses station looking for her to ask a question an aide at the desk called her. She came out, approached me and stated 'first of all you belong down there. That's your mother's nurses station at the other end.' How would I know this? A few days into our stay we found out she did not transcribe all of the medications from the hospital discharge paperwork so my mom ended up missing some of her meds. Luckily some of the meds needed they keep in stock onsite. Unfortunately another one had to be ordered from the external pharmacy that they use. I could go on but this should be enough for anyone to seek services somewhere else before going to this facility. While some of the staff were good, not enough that I could make a recommendation for someone to receive services here. I hope we never have to go back.

This is one of the worst nursing homes Ive ever been to the nurses and staff are rude, unorganized, and is not willing to tell the family anything about ther own relative staying there. The main thing that bothers me is when a patient pushed there call button for a nurse serious or not it takes about half an hour to a full hour before a nurse even walks by and in some serious cases they wouldnt give a darn and take there good old time because they dont care. So coming from personal experience avoid this center at all cost. And to add on top of this they cannot arrange transportation like they promise for Dialysis dialysis patients such as my grandmother who was not only late for dialysis but also did not get back until 2 hours after she was done with her 4 hour treatment this center deserves to be investigated every single crack in this place needs to be investigated.
