Devereux Pocono Center

Devereux Ponoco Center is a terrible company. I wouldnt recommend anyone to work at this company. Do Not work for this company, you would regret work with them if you do decide to work at Devereux. I definitely DO regret work with them.

I don't see this place as bad as those who have reviewed before me but I do know a few things. First, I worked there over 3 years and they overloaded me with jobs and when I begged to have a case removed because the mom would make me drive an HOUR without confirming if I could see the client (means NO pay) they wrote me up and then ultimately let me go for telling the woman I would not come unless she confirmed. But the most important thing is the BHRS is contract which means you, as an independent contractor can have money taken away from you they don't like something. It also means they do not take taxes out, do not contribute to your social security or retirement, don't pay for training that is required each year and pay you a ridiculously low rate ($10/hr) but require a Master's degree for weekly supervision. They also do not pay for travel which is a BIG cost. They say they pay you more than other agencies because they don't pay for these things but other agencies pay very close to what Devereux pays so it does not make up for it. Plus, when you are let go, you aren't able to collect unemployment because you are an IC but the job holds STRICT control over you like every other BHRS agency but the other agencies consider you an employee. Devereux also may give you 30 hours of working with children that is paid for but another 10-15 hours per week is paperwork that is NOT paid for. If their equipment messes up and loses your paperwork, you get to do it again for free. The management does not back you up and will stab you in the back.So run, do not walk away from this business.

I was in this hellhole in paoli and nowhere in my State was any better. My wife was also in it. Many staff with perminet backrounds beat me half to death twice a week. I have a shattered wrist. Someone i know was released with PTSD and killed someone. The good people and clients were blackmailed into silence or they would be economically, physically, or any other abuse for assault. I was in here and i had to fight everyday or i would probably be dead. I was 13-15 when i was in there and many kids resorted back to prison instead because they were so scared. I was also sexually assaulted by one staff in here. The staff were savage barbaric thugs. I almost died in these places. DO NOT ALLOW YOUR CHILDREN SUFFER LIKE I HAVE. My wife was in Newfoundland Pennsylvania and was assulted by staff and other adult patients. They let her abusive ex visit constantly who was an ilkegal gun owner and drug dealer visit. Every person i personally met on the inside as a patent can tell you the same or worse. RAPES, MURDERERS, SUICIDES AND HUSHMONEY were all reported in every single one in Pennsylvania. I've read up on it. I plan on becoming a P.I. so i can stop these c**kheads from ruining our kids. Im 20 years old and a day does not go by where i dont have trust issues or feel insecure over others in reality. I dont let this effect my life or my choices. I got over my trama I was given in there but i also wish that this company was shut down long ago. if anyone currently has someone in there now you can save them by doing the mistake i and my family did not do is to investigate, sue, and get your child out of there.
