I will always call members (residents, residents' families, and coworkers) of Country Meadows of West Shore my family. I began working for Country Meadows of West Shore in 2011 as a Personal Care Associate in the Memory Support neighborhood. Although I was in nursing school, which was beneficial to my success in the position, I was adequately trained for my position through classes and hands-on experiences. I was given specific Dementia training to help me understand and meet the needs of those I cared for. I was also given the opportunity to take the PA state medication administration course in order to advance as a Medication Associate at no cost to me. I worked for the company until I graduated nursing school. I sought to gain experience as a nurse in an acute care setting, but once a coworker told me that the Director of Nursing position at Country Meadows was available, I reapplied to Country Meadows of West Shore and was welcomed back with open arms. It was like I had never left. I have worked for Country Meadows of West Shore at entry and management levels and have only good things to say about the company. The residents and line of work speak for themselves. I have made lifelong friends with my coworkers. Every day, I made a positive difference in someone's life. I have never had a more rewarding career. I have also never worked for a company that valued the voices of the coworker and resident as much as Country Meadows does. If you walk through any neighborhood on campus, you can just feel Country Meadows culture and the caring attitude the coworkers possess. I highly recommend Country Meadows of West Shore to people seeking meaningful work and families looking for a trusted personal care home for their loved ones. I truly believe that at Country Meadows, life does get better. Mine sure did!

I started working for this company in February 2016 as a PCA working various shifts, eventually staying on 3-11 to become a medication associate. Ive worked both day shift and evening shift on every unit on campus. In August 2018 I decided to further my career and go to LPN school on a very generous scholarship awarded to me by Country Meadows. The amount of support that I received during nursing school was endless. From my peers to my superiors, everyone was constantly offering help and support to help me get through school and ensure success. Management was extremely flexible helping me construct a work schedule that allowed me to be a full time student and still work. At the completion of my program, I was offered a job as an LPN which of course I accepted. Ive now been out of nursing school for a year and have loved being able to serve my residents from the role of an LPN. This facility is beautiful both inside and out. The coworkers are all amazing individuals who Ive had the honor of working with for 3 years now. Every single person is unique, with the same goal of providing a comfortable place for our residents to call home. This campus is a place that I have enjoyed working for, and would absolutely trust for my loved one to go if the situation occurred. There is not a doubt in my mind that anyone who came here would feel they are anywhere other than home.

The past 60 days has been an overwhelming journey for our family as we navigated our parents hospitalizations, rehabilitations, moves from an independent living facility to assisted living at Country Meadows, and the eventual death of our father. Its not an understatement to say that the staff at Country Meadows was outstanding every step of the way. The marketing team, the transportation drivers, the nursing staff, the kitchen personnel and maintenance staff are professional and kind in the way they interact with both residents and family. When it became clear that our fathers care needs were more at the level of a skilled nursing facility, Allie and Danielle worked with us to come up with a plan combining private duty and hospice care to allow him to return to Country Meadows from the rehab facility. His last week of life was spent with his wife rather than alone in another new facility. Just a week later, our mother was ready to move to a single room, and once again, the staff were on hand to arrange everything. We are thankful to everyone who is a part of the team.

Having your loved one move to an assisted living facility is stressful on all - you, your loved one, family and friends. Country Meadows of Mechanicsburg knew we were stressed and was able to make all of us feel comfortable with their program/facility. We were first exposed to CM when my father needed additional therapy after being discharged from a rehab hospital. We were there on a short time agreement, wishing and hoping my father would stay at CM -he wanted to return home and we respected his wishes. Fast forward one year..... my father was no longer safe at home and we needed to find him somewhere he was comfortable - after trying another place (another story) we were able to get my dad back to CM.When we arrived, he said, I'm home.....That was the beginning of him really being home.He was quickly settled into an amazing room, surrounded by amazing staff. All the staff members cared for my father like they were related. The housekeeper noticed a change in him one day and assisted in getting him the medical treatments he needed and cried when she knew it all worked out and he was fine. The aide noticed my father was an artist and showed him her work which ignited a light for him to try to s=draw again... the list goes on and on... If you are looking for a place for your loved one to go to to be cared for like a King/Queen or a family member, please go to CM.Just one more note... we decided to try to move my father closer to family outside of Mechanicsburg. Once we told some of the centers where he was and how our expectations were high due to the care he has been receiving, one of the centers told us that they could not meet the expectations of the care delivery at CM as CM is the top rated center in the state and is always meeting or exceeding the regulatory inspections mandated. I am more than happy to talk to anyone who needs to talk about CM- you will NOT be disappointed for the care they deliver to your loved one and how they keep you informed about the updates you need to know. Our family rates CM 10/10 - 100%
