I worked here for 6 years. I did leave on good terms and had great professional references from coworkers, including administration, for my new job - so I can assure you that Im not writing this because I was wrongfully terminated or out of spite. We received a new administrator a few months prior to my departure who I genuinely believe has good intentions. Before her, and maybe a few times after she came, I had some pretty unpleasant experiences but I will leave my personal experiences out of it. I would mostly like to make mention of some of the concerns I have surrounding patient care. They withhold basic essentials such as personal cleansing cloths and only allow them to be administered to patients who are documented as having frequent incontinence episodes. I have heard with my own ears a nurse tell a patient that they cant have wipes because theyre able to use the bathroom. I have also heard a registered nurse tell a patient who speaks very little English that she didnt understand her and she couldnt help her. The patient was in distress and obviously in need of help and I watched that nurse walk away! I could not believe it then and I cant now. I reported it, but this nurse was still employed at the time that I quit. Washcloths were very hard to come by and so the aides were left to cut up towels into wash rags. Laundry department was subpar, theyd rather sit outside and smoke cigarettes all shift long. Physically combative patients were brought in and allowed to stay even after they assaulted other patients and workers. One violent person in particular was to be supervised round the clock and administration would sit with him, taking one hour shifts. As soon as he would move or want something, they would move out and call the CNAs in like security. I was spit on and grabbed by the throat in February of this year by that man and I am still receiving bills and credit agency threats that workmens comp was to take care of, and its September. The menu is not appetizing at all and I felt so guilty serving those people such terrible food. Theres not much to look forward to when youre stuck in a hospital bed for weeks or months at a time, so the meals need to be better. Quit trying to cut corners! Stop being so cheap. One man had bed bugs and a nurse yelled down the hallway Watch when you go into *****s room because of the bed bugs, you know. People would talk about patients sicknesses and diagnoses in public areas. It was a total nightmare. Its sad that I had to leave because I made great relationships and the floor staff worked together pretty well. I do miss a lot of the people I worked with. I just could not handle being a part of such a negligent environment any longer, so I decided to find a different job. If you want to work there, thats fine. Everyone has to make money. But if you are looking for a place for your loved one, I do not at all recommend Manor Care of Carlisle.

I just got out of this rehab. I have first hand knowledge of there caring. Staff is great. Nurses work hard. They will go beyond to please u. If u need rehab this this is the place.place.ot staff is good. Put staff is great. There goal is to have u not come back. Feel like new.

Manor care is a awesome facitity if you have to be there the staff is awesome the place is clean giving special thanks to ms kane and allie also sarah and kim and many more also the staff thats works in the therapy dept(we are very pleased from james & debbie brenizer
