Keep your loved ones out of this place at any cost. We moved my mother from there after she was found in the parking lot crying for help on one of the coldest days of the year. The response from the 'administrator' was that she'd had a nurse call us, so the matter was closed. No mention of why they'd lessened their security features, no discussion of how to prevent this in the future, just an eviction notice to my mother. Luckily we'd already found a clean, safe place for our mother to live. Clean and safe are not what Elmcroft is about.

The staff at Elmcroft of Allison Park really care about the residents. The residents are treated like family. Many of the residents have some degree of dementia and the staff really seems to understand their unique, individual needs. This facility is not considered a 'locked' unit, but they do have the wander guard bracelets for residents that may be at risk for trying to leave the facility. The dining room serves delicious and nutritious meals three times a day and, in addition, aides come around with a snack/drink cart. There are activities for those residents interested in participating. I feel that my loved one is in good hands at Elmcroft of Allison Park.
