I think the facility is beautiful and if you have a loved one who is ambulatory and independent they will probably enjoy the community. If your loved one is needing more assistance I would not recommend. We had a very dangerous situation with my Father and moved him immediately. For the money you do not get the service.

My dad has lived here for many years. His experiences here have, for the most part, been good. Any complaints I've heard have been that sometimes the food needs some help. It seems to depend on who's doing the cooking. The wait staff seems to always be in a state of change. The staff are nice and friendly but often times slow. Prices usually are reasonable. Depending on day and holiday, everything from peanut butter and jelly sandwich to a lobster dinner may be available. There are several 'extras' for residents..theater, church services, beauty salon, pool, memory care, crafts, bowling, etc. Being a family member, I like to come for a visit and stay for a day or two. There are 2 guest rooms available to rent. Each room is like a nice hotel-type room. If these are unavailable or if you prefer to stay with your relative, you will be told there are roll-away beds available to rent. However...if you want a good nights rest, don't count on getting it with the rollaway. The mattresses on these must be as old as the hills because you get to sleep on springs that poke you here, there and everywhere. We have protested against these beds several times. Shoot, my dad even paid extra money so whoever is in charge would buy a new mattress so there would be something comfortable for me to sleep on, so its not like the owners of this large lovely retirement community can't afford to provide a little comfort for the family and friends of those residing here. To be fair, maybe they did buy a new mattress ....but they apparently had such an attachment to the old ones, they kept them and continue to rent them out. I know this because it seems I end up with the oldie (mattress, not person) whenever I stay over. So if you plan on visiting your loved ones here, you might consider a nearby motel. You might spend more, but at least you will sleep better and not wake up with springs stuck to your backside.
