Wonderful place for gathering, lots of activities. I was there for the senior men's monthly breakfast. Second Tuesday of each month at 8:30 super breakfast, great place to meet others. Breakfast is just $4 and well worth it. Check it out

My experiences here have not been that great. Due to the fact I'm stereotyped almost every time I step through the doors. I'm a native lane county-er, I was born at sacred heart hospital, my parents contributed greatly to the community as they had their own self-employed businesses. My entire family lives here. I've contributed greatly to this community as well, as I've purchased all my furniture, electronics, cars, even my own surgeries here in lane county my entire life. I have a degree in business with an emphasis in accounting that I've used 5 years, putting me at a masters level. I experienced homelessness as the economy crashed, and haven't found my footing since then. I'm not an addict on the streets, and I have never been. But because I am homeless now, while I wait for housing to open up, I'm stereotyped by people my parents were friends with and that knew me as a kid, at the 'community center'.... and just because they can't recognize me from the past, isn't a good reason to judge me....... I'm me. I'm an excellent person who loves people, always trying to flash a smile to everyone. I was raised Christian all my life. I've spent my life in churches and kingdom halls. I feel very much stereotyped and treated indifferently by the people working there, and managing it there. And I'm not even at the building for very long, to maybe charge my smartphone so I can get offers for jobs. I'm also 50 years old but don't look it (4/16/1969), once again, everyone in there looks at me like I don't belong there. If it wasn't a community center and it was still a senior center, that's senior abuse 'to me.' I was harassed more than once, for charging my phone. I was harassed for smoking outside the building, which has smoking apparatuses all around it. I watched some of the staff smoke in the grass sometimes, but when I did it (far enough away from building) I was treated like a vagrant. I do have a car, and a storage unit because of the hardships I'm going through right now, but I don't want to be treated this way. I am a normal person and I have nice things(in my storage, waiting to be used in my next place I rent). This is my hometown, and I'm just really disappointed at the community center and how I'm treated there, and that doesn't make me feel like I want to take a class, or shoot a game of pool, use the computers, or have a cup of coffee and chat with some people also there...
