The front desk staff were rude and completely disrespectful.

6/5/19 UPDATE Have moved my husband to another facility, Veranda Park in Medford. WOW, what a difference in this place versus sky lark. The food, oh the food -- so wonderful. The attentive service, the attention to detail, friendliness, a person with a brain that knows how to do an insurance claim. It is such a relief for both of us. John moved in yesterday. Today I called him to see how things were going and he said, 'I think I'm in love with this place. They served me breakfast this morning and it was warm!' What a comment regarding sky lark's cold eggs, toast, un-chewable meat and anything else to do with their horrible food. It's taken five attempts to get the insurance form for March corrected and sent in to CalPERS insurance. The manager threatened to report me to Adult Protection Services -- she did not like my tone when I insisted a correct claim needed to be submitted. She flat out refused and it had to be done by home office in Nevada. April's claim - sent in too soon. May's claim -- invoice wrong. Not a correct claim in the last six months. Every one had to be submitted at least twice. It's a one page check list with an invoice for that month attached. Duh! 3/20/19 My husband is a resident there. First, I would like to say most of the staff are amazing. It all falls apart at the corporate level as I imagine their directive is 'Give me the money, MORE money.' It is constantly understaffed, extremely difficult to get them on the phone -- their voicemail 'directory' for personnel doesn't work, Med Room mail box is always full and only one phone line so if it is busy, goes directly to this useless voice mail. The paperwork required from Skylark for Long Term Care Insurance has been a constant struggle, requiring over site by me every month. It's a one page questionnaire and copy of that month's invoice. The turnover of staff has been extraordinary. I know of at least three people who have walked off the job in disgust. You are probably asking yourself why I keep him in this facility if I feel this way. Well, I've urged him to move to one in Medford but he doesn't want to be that far away from me. I am one mile from Skylark. Even though I would still see him as often, it is an emotional concept for him at this point. Once again, I would like to commend the staff. They work hard and care about the residents, as well as they can while being short staffed, with insufficient training and low pay. Does any one out there know of a facility that they like? When he needs memory care, I will be moving him elsewhere.3/22/19 I spoke with the Skylark Administrator. She was very gracious in listening to my concerns. Seems the food all comes from Portland via Sysco Foods and the meds come from Dahl Pharmacy in Nevada. This is one of the main reasons the food resembles hospital food and the drugs take a long time to arrive. Katlin the administrator said she is trying to get some local produce. And, that there is a local pharmacy option if Dahl pharmacy messes up (which has happened more than once). My review stands until I see some improvements. Hey out there...are all Rogue Valley facilities like this? So corporate? The web sites read so wonderfully -- far from reality. Has anyone had a better experience?5-1-2019 Now they are not doing the Long Term Care monthly paper correctly and they have messed up the invoice for May. They are charging me a late fee when I have never, ever been late with a payment. They, so far, have had to submit the paperwork to LTC three times and there is still some kind of problem. They are the ones who should be paying me a late fee because of their errors my reimbursement from LTC are late. 5/3/19 No, not a late fee, it's a bookkeeping error...another mistake. Received a print out from CalPERS LTC that said April's claim was submitted too early. On it GOES. Looking into alternative to this mess called Skylark.
