Fountain View Manor/ Grace House Alzheimer's unit

This visit made me feel more comfortable than past visits. I experience high anxiety when I have to visit my grandmother (JMM) because I am afraid of her being mistreated since she is blind, can't move, and just laying in the bed. A couple of years ago, I went in and asked for her room. A couple of nurses scurried around and told us to wait, that they were just getting ready to clean her up. That was not acceptable. I followed them and stood outside the door. My grandmother smelled awful and had severe bed sores on her body.This visit, she looked a lot better and feel that they were taking better care of her. If I lived closer I would visit more often. When a loved one is in the care of others, on a daily basis, they should be taken care of as if it were their own family. I may not see how she is being taken care of but I know someone who sees everything. He knows how people treat others. I pray they are taking care of her and everyone else very well.
