My mom just arrived there last week after leaving Mercy hospital from a stroke. I feel that the she got better care at Mercy hospital. The staff at the laurels does not come check on there patients. I came in to visit my mom and she was fall out the bed. She had food all over her clothes. And they had her laying in bed with her diaper half off and just her shirt on and no pants. I went to asked the nurse something and they were very rude. I would of never put my mom in the place if I knew she would get such bad care

I was the NHA of this facility several years ago prior to moving to the South, and recently assisted with interim administrator coverage there. I was pleased to see that the vast majority of the management staff was still in place and enjoying taking care of the Residents (Guests). When speaking and interacting with the Guests, I could see that they were well taken care of and happy. The amount and different types of activities was impressive...especially when they involved the staff. It wasn't unusual to see the floor staff smiling and joking with the Guests. It made my heart happy to see such a loving environment for both the Guests and the Staff.

The Laurels of Steubenville 100% perfectly exceeded my families expectations for my mom's care. I am '1' of '11' siblings and regret only that The Laurels of Steubenville was not the initial choice for my 89 year old mother. Mom transferred to The Laurels of Steubenville from a differing nursing care facility located in Steubenville. From day '1' at the Laurels of Steubenville mom expressed feeling welcomed and supported by the folks at The Laurels. She was at The Laurels for approximately 3 months she progressed physically allowing her to meet her goal to return home. Mom's mental capacity has never failed her....she has remained mentally clear and concise. Since being home January 2020 mom has expressed that if future circumstance require her needing to be cared for .......she would want to go back to The Laurels of Steubenville for that care. She has asked me to thank The Laurels of Steubenville staff 'online' for care she received. To THANK 'ALL' of them for a job well done.!!! Specifically to thank them for her warm CLEAN friendly welcome, she was VERY pleased with care givers KINDNESS, and her therapy sessions being A+++, and for the FOOD - the food being 'absolutely delicious!!!' MUCH LOVE & A HUGE THANK YOU to those who took such great care of my GOLDEN GIRL. Very Thankful Marcella Buxton Warrington
