My mother is a resident at Winchester Terrace. I have reported the neglect to the D.O.N. and nothing has happen. I have been a STNA for over 28 years, I have seen the good the bad and the ugly in nursing. But I have never seen it this bad. We turned our mother light on for her to use the bathroom. 2 hours went by, no one came to check on her. The nurse was giving her pills and when mom was tired of taking the pills the nurse asked her ' well do you want me to just throw them away?' Where in the world did that become an option? How about putting the pills in pudding, yogurt, or applesauce???? My mother is a high fall risk. That means that somebody should check on her often. On the weekends the aides hide on the back hall and NEVER come to check on the residents. My daughter went down the hall and got clean linen, towels and a wedge from the closet HERSELF, gave my mother a good wash up, changed her bed, lotioned her up and put her to bed. The call light was on the whole time and NOBODY CAME to answer the light. Anything could have happened. If the staff doesn't care to care for the residents, maybe, just maybe, its time to change the staff. This is considered a form of abuse. State can and will be notified about this. Not just for my mother but there were other family members that were looking for aides to care for their loved one as well. This is just not right! I used to work for this facility years ago and this type of stuff was not tolerated. WHAT HAPPENED???? This was the reason we chose this facility, because I worked here. If Im going to come visit my mother and take care of her while I am there, then whoever the aides are, they should not be getting paid. This is my mother I am talking about and I am pretty sure if this was your mother these things would not be happening to her. No one comes to take the residents to the bathroom, no one offers water, no one even show their faces. These residents should be the reason your staff is there. If not, they need to go! Im not complaining just for my mother, Im complaining for that whole entire facility. If they mistreat my mother, that means they are doing the same thing to somebody else family member. The aides that are mistreating residents are Ronda and Renea. Come on Winchester Terrace, get back to the way it used to be! ~Stephanie Johnson~

Not impressed with this facility. The room furniture is broken, medical equipment doesnt work and everytime you bring it the attention of an administrator they claim its the first theyve heard about it - despite regular staff mtgs so it seems little to coordination between staff and administrators. One administrator is particular is neither nice nor professional. The staff when in the room are friendly enough but how they interact with each other is unprofessional. I would not recommend this place.

The staff, including the nurses, STNAs, therapist, food service, maintenance, administrators and doctor, do an incredible job under very demanding and difficult circumstances.

Do not take your family here if you love them. My grandmother is here now we are working to get her out. The aids have lost all her clothes, they don't change her and leave her wet in the bed, the nurse manager has been told they don't even follow protocol. This place will neglect your family I REPEAT DO NOT TAKE YOUR LOVE ONE HERE!!!!
