Cortland Healthcare Center

Cortland Healthcare has done a absolutely beautiful job keeping the residents save from the covid 19 virus. Working in the healthcare field myself I know how it is to keep residents and family members safe from infection. Us being in a Red country in Ohio makes it even more difficult to maintain zero residents infected. GREAT JOB GUYS!!!

Charles Williams is a knowledgable, compassionate administrator. He demonstrates that his primary concern is for the welfare of his residents and the quality of care that they receive. The facility is well organized, clean and a pleasant place to reside.

Not impressed. I went in for an interview and saw a resident wandering, nobody attempted to intervene when said resident was obviously confused. The HR woman came and said who am I meet with now proceeds to have a conversation for 5 minutes then approach me. Did not shut office door, woman walked in and interrupted and the HR woman decided to chat w her for a few instead. Office was unkept. Said some questionable things about staff. Showed me around the facility and the two lodges whom house long term seemed dirty and smelly while the skilled seemed rather clean and well updated. Saw the Same resident who was wandering. The hr woman said she likes to get out a lot and shes not all there then didnt even redirect resident to proper area or room. Even though she just stated she gets outside OFTEN. The entire I retire was in appropriate and not set up well and seemed all over the place. I was really interested but cant seem to shake the fact this place needs some serious MEETINGS and fix a lot of issues. Break room is so small and theres no privacy for private papers and barley any space for your belongings. I also saw an STNA with SLIPPERS on dragging her feet. It was so ridiculous. And to top it off the administer was flustered and had his cellphone out. Needs improvement ASAP and a point system. Cant work for a place that doesnt have a good system. Only makes problems.

I walked into this nursing home years back for my grandpa and was not very pleased due to smell and the staff that handled us very poorly. I recently have been back in this nursing home and it has changed in so many ways! The smell is gone and the staff is much more personable and very caring. When we were asking questions the staff was very attentive and treated my family as if it was there own, this meant a lot to us! They also have done some renovating and the place is so much nicer and it feels more like a home when you walk through the doors! I would absolutely recommend this nursing home to my family and friends
