Ohio Living Westminster-Thurber

My father has been at Thurber for many years and for the first several years it seemed like a great place while he was in independent living. My last visit I had a much different impression. The dining room was actually quite filthy with stains all over the dining room chairs and floors. Food had gone downhill too. Then my dad and his wife needed to go to assisted living. Not too bad but they soon needed to go to the next level of care. 17K per month! Covid hasn't helped and we can't keep a closer eye on him or even know what this new living arrangement is really like for them since there is no inside visitation yet. My dad and his wife can't sit at the same dining table together due to Covid but they can share the same room. What, Thurber? And it's clear that nobody is taking the time to give him a haircut or even trim his nails or give him a clean shave as he deserves which shows me there is a lack of caring on Thurber's part of the resident's dignity in their last days. As I said before, disappointed in what I'm seeing the past couple of years at Thurber!

this place is extremely dishonest. my grandmother just recently broke her hip and OSU sent her to Thurber Manor Rehabilitation Center. she was constantly complaining that the staff was really mean to her and that she was terrified of them. she called me today crying in pain from her broken hip and scared because they moved her from her hospital bed to the recliner and left her help wire on the other side of the room and left her without water for hours. she is immobile. when she was on the phone with me I could hear her screaming at the top of her lungs for someone to help her just screaming help because she couldn't reach her cord, and she was sliding out of the chair into the floor, one came. I called the front desk to tell them to check up on her and they said that they would send somebody right away, 2 hours had passed and nothing. we had to check on her ourselves at 3 in the morning because they wouldn't. we will be withdrawing her from Thurber Manor Rehabilitation Center and we will not be returning. would not recommend at all, this place makes me sick.
