Independence Village Avon Lake

I moved to Avon Lake about a month ago and I really like it. The people working here are great. They are always so helpful and always talk to you. The housekeeper and maintenance man feel like family to me now. I am proud to have friends come to visit because it is such a nice community. I really enjoy playing pool and going to tai chi and other exercise classes. I feel it is really unusual to have as many activity choices as they have here daily. The entertainers who come here to perform are also really good. I would definitely recommend this community to friends and family.

I recently had a family member move to Independence Village of Avon Lake. It's like living in the Taj Mahal... it is beautiful but you can also feel such a peace when you walk in. We would definitely recommend this community to friends and family.

I have been working for Independence Village for 15 years now. I cannot imagine being anywhere else. The staff here is so very caring and wonderful and the residents are so great. Sometimes they just make my day.I am glad to be here.

Wow! This community truly has a family like feel. The staff are warm and friendly. The residents are happy to be here. The food is exceptional and they provide great care. Ive worked in senior living for 10 years and this is the best community Ive had the pleasure to work for.

One month ago, I moved my mother from an assisted living facility in Sandusky to Independence Village in Avon Lake. She'd been in Memory Care for 12 years at the other facility but as her physical and mental health was declining rapidly, I wanted her close. Moving a parent with dementia into a new facility can be stressful on the patient as well as those who love them. The staff at Independence Village did and continues to do everything in their power to ensure this transition went as smoothly as possible for my mother as well as me. The staff treats the residents of Memory Care with kindness and dignity. They display an incredible degree of patience and do an excellent job of meeting each resident where they are at any given moment. As a result, the residents are more content and engaged than at other memory care facility I've seen. There are activities throughout the day including music and yoga for residents interested in participating. Residents are given food choices at every meal and the food is good. During the past month, I've had meetings with everyone from the executive director to heads of each department at their request. They do this so I know who to call with any questions or concerns about any aspect of my mother's care. The staff at Independence Village treat the residents and those who love them like they would their own family and friends.
