As a former employee, this place has went down hill. while I was working there if we got word that state was coming in on a Tuesday we would deep clean the place that Monday. Or if a new resident was coming to tour the place our administration would come and tell the employees to clean super good and make sure everything was nice enough for them to come in. Ive came into work plenty of times where residents werent being took care of the right way. People still laying in there mess when I would do rounds, no sheet on the bed, not enough pillow cases. Always short on laundry. The place is always understaffed. It seems that administration is lacking responsibility. They know what goes on in there and refuse to do anything about it. We would always be short on GLOVES and WHIPES in the facility. HOW??? I dont know it was always a constant issue, that the administration knew about. Falls not being reported all the time. Showers sometimes never being given and you could tell. I honestly loved this job until nothing was being done about the issues we were facing. As I was told there the staff is the most important thing, You have to make sure the staff is happy in order for them to give great care there. Which is a total lie the administration makes you feel like nothing, it dont matter how hard you bust your butt for them they will kick you to the curb, if it dont benefit them. Trust me, if you were ever considering taking a job there dont. Its physically and mentally draining to work there. I personally had residents family members come up to me and be like what has this place turned into??. Why are people so rude here. I would just kinda shrug it off and be like oh theyre having a bad day, or were trying to fix this place. But now looking back at it, it never changed and people always had bad attitudes. Employees fighting in front of residents and using VULGAR LANGUAGE. They have lost some really great workers because of the administration and employees. I personally would NEVER put any of my family members there...

Awful. Room not cleaned on my father's arrival. Requests for any help fell on deaf ears. They lost my father's hearing aid the first week. We never had any problems with his hearing aid in 2 previous years of memory care facilities. Very rarely changed my father or made his bed. I did it. He is doing much better at a different facility. I don't think I have ever been as upset in my life as when I took him out after the proper 14 day notice and they not only pulled out payment for the rest of the month (which they refunded me) but they said I told them to put the room on hold for 4 days (why would I do that when I was taking him out?). They said they would give me a refund on this, but it has been nearly 3 months and they won't give it and refuse to discuss it with me anymore.

I was there from March 7 2019 through July 4 2019. I continuously had things stolen, and from what I heard from other residents this is an ongoing problem. I had jewelry stolen the second day I was there because they Didn't see to it that I had a lockable cabinet before they went home for the weekend. Then the insisted they were not responsible for anything stolen. My medication was constantly messed up. They didn't refill meds that had refills available, several meds went missing out of the med cart, they even gave me someone else's medication one time which caused me to go to the emergency room. It seemed to be a constant battle for medication the entire four months I was there. The carpeting in the place is filthy and there are doors that have grime and filth on them. My friend pointed out black widow spiders and I told four different people including Shane Brooks the administrator who never did a thing. They have a severe termite problem which has not been taken care of.The first fall that I had I wasn't even offered the opportunity to go to the emergency room. They don't handle a lot of them by their own protocol.Another thing that they do that concerns me is their policy of 'borrowing meds.' According to Mr. Brooks they have to fill out a form each time they borrow a med from another resident, yet they had to borrow meds for me a lot and never once did the med tech ever fill any form out to do it. I sure would like to see all of those forms lol.On my last day the med tech counted all my meds and after they were done they were bagged up. I never was involved in this. I didnt see what was put in those bags. Instead she just shoved a paper at me and said 'sign here.' I left with Buffy Clark Bingham, we stopped at Walmart and I ran In alone and then went to my new home. After I was moved in and Buffy left, I discovered that an entire card of narcotics was missing from the bags. I called The Hermitage where I was told that I signed for the meds so it's too late. There were many times where aides and med techs told me that if the State ever came in and really looked they would shut thef place down. It certainly wouldn't surprise me.I could keep going but what difference will it make. I'm definitely a 'dissatisfied client.' I'll never go into another 'assisted living facility' again that's for sure. Shane Brooks needs to be replaced for one. That should be their first step. It always seemed lime when there were a lot of issues on weekends or at night, he wouldn't come In the next day. I don't think he wants to handle the problems until he is forced to. And when he does get forced to face them he holds a staff meeting and berates and yells at the aides and med techs. I have sat out with other residents in the smokers patio during these meetings and listened to him. It's not pretty. There are so many things wrong with the place. Never again will I go into one. I would rather live in a tent. I moved out on my own again and thank goodness I'm young enough to do that.
