Is there a lot of turnover? Yep. But no more so than literally any other elder care facility. Have there been 'issues?' Yep. But when pointed out, they are addressed. Do I wish they had more staffing. Of course. BUT, that is simply not possible. This facility is staffed beyond what NC regulations require. They HAVE to make money though. If it is one on one, 24/7 care your loved one needs, there is NO facility which will provide that level of care. You're better off moving them in with you and hiring in home care. Are the staff friendly and accommodating. DEFINITELY. Every now and again you run into someone whose heart is clearly not in it. They don't last long at all. Again, this is true in EVERY single facility. My mother is one of the longest residing residents at The Crossings. She has been on the Safe Haven wing for four years now. Her Alzheimers journey here has gone from vocal, mobile, feisty, combative, scared to immobile, bedridden, non-verbal, injured, etc. She is in the final stage. It is the third facility we tried in the Fayetteville area and outshines the other two by a mile! Have there been SNAFUs? Absolutely. NO facility is perfect but the administrators of THIS facility are ALWAYS willing to hear you out and make necessary changes (as are the folks at Saber corporate). This is NOT a picnic. You MUST be vigilant. And you MUST accept that it is a hard but sometimes necessary decision we loved ones make to place our parents, siblings, aunts, uncles, etc. in the care of another. The Crossings CAN be trusted to provide that care. Truly wonderful people running the show who don't accept ANYTHING but the best possible care for our loved ones! And speaking of activities, check out the picture. If THESE aren't cool activities, I don't know if ANYTHING will make you happy!

Today is Monday September 3, 2018......The facility is very clean, the staff members are so kind and helpful. Making the decision to place my mom somewhere was not easy, but The Crossing at Wayside help make it a smooth transition. I highly recommend this facility.

This facility presents very well initially. Staff friendly and helpful at first. Then try to reach one after your loved one has been admitted! Nursing staff excluded. Phones are often unattended and voicemail rarely works for a return phone call. Front door desk at times left unattended. Anyone can walk in or out as my mom did. Be sure to label and take pictures of everything you bring to decorate your loved ones room. It grows legs and walks away! Staff apparently have no system in place to periodically check other residents rooms for odd/different things showing up if it is they who take things. I should have done this myself, but was having a difficult time trying to get my mother to stay. Needless to say there should be a system in place to deter theft. Left messages for management to call me back regarding missing items. I have not received a call back! . I cant recommend a place that tolerates theft and is not professional enough to return phone calls.
