The wait list is about 2 years to get in. Wish they had better way of updating us on when we are getting in! Stay tuned ....

This is not only a beautiful community but the staff is wonderful and caring! My parents enjoyed every minute of living there,; the social events, the food, and the Front Desk were great! Wish they had moved in sooner and got to enjoy more of the activities they offer!

Originally we felt this place was great. The Harbor independent living appears to be a lovely facility, and we were promised great things. When we told them my mother was Type 1 diabetic with some memory issues and sometimes needs some assistance with her insulin pump, we were told that they were comfortable with helping her with an insulin pump when she needed it, which is why we chose the place. They reassured us of their willingness to help and their expertise with helping Type 1 diabetics. Apparently, LPL just told us what we wanted to hear in order to get our business. When my mom did begin to need regular assistance and had a temporary setback due to a short-term illness (she was still living independently but did need assistance with her medication/ insulin), they went back on their promises and just 3 months after she moved in, they abruptly gave us a 30 day notice and told us they would no longer help with her medication. They truly made promises they did not keep. They did not handle her situation with empathy or care, they did not listen to her family, they did not seek medical advice. They just told her to get out in 30 days. They will make it sound like you will be able to easily transition to the Bridge, assisted living if you need to, but just know that if you have any physical or cognitive trouble down the road, you will be asked to leave in 30 days, and there is actually usually a several months to a year long waiting list for assisted living. Some employees were wonderful and kind with my mom. But one nurse and the director Rita Hood definitely lacked empathy. The director Rita and even the corporate director did not take into consideration resident and family concerns. They didn't treat our family with kindness and understanding or a spirit of working together. They didn't listen to the recommendations of my mother's doctor or consult medical opinions when they made their decisions. They don't have a clear assessment and evaluation policy for taking residents, and so they make promises they cannot keep. My mother lost so much money and went through so much physical and mental stress as a result of moving to Lake Pointe Landing, having promises broken, and being forced to move again in just a few months' time.If you can guarantee there will be no physical or mental issues the rest of your or your loved one's life (and if you are not a Type 1 diabetic and have no memory issues), maybe this place will be fine for your or your loved ones. However, I would caution people before entering into an agreement with Lake Pointe Landing. Other than two kind nurses and a nice front desk staff, it was a very negative experience for my mother and my family. I wouldn't recommend this facility.

My mother and father in law lived at Lake Pointe and loved her experience there. They adored Amy, the food, the social activities and their apartment. An elegantly appointed facility with elegant residents.
