About half the staff here despise their job so much that don't mind showing or even telling you that. Staff was unbelievably rude until they realized that we would go to their manager to complain. Most people don't wear a badge, don't introduce themselves and so you have no idea who they are/job title. Can't believe the staff smoking area is right outside the dining area. It reeks at meal times because ALL the staff are out there. While people (who can't attend to themselves, hence why they're here) wait for things like salt, pepper, butter, sugar or just THE CORRECT FOOD. The staff should be banned from smoking during meals first off and secondly should have a maximum number of breaks that they can take. I've never witnessed so much cigarette smoking. The PT and OT staff were amazing and are the only reason this facility rated any stars. The PT and OT seem to enjoy what they do and that makes all the difference. The nurses, CNAs, food service staff either hate their jobs or just don't have enough decency to have compassion for the residents. Also, they have resident cats here so if you're allergic they'll just keep you locked in your room. Or if you complain they put a note to keep your door closed all the time. Which is scary since it sometimes takes yelling to get someone in the room to help you. Call bells mean nothing to these people. There is always a minimum of 2 bells going off at any given time at every nurses station. The staff just walk right on by, even to go out to smoke! If you have to go here, complain alot to management and then they'll treat you like a human being (most of the time).
