If you choose Waltonwood as your assisted living or memory care facility, be sure to install cameras in all living spaces, both open and hidden to keep track of your belongings and to protect yourself from neglect. The family member who managed our loved one's bill was constantly catching 'add on' charges to the account that should not have been there. It would take months and multiple calls for these over charges to be cleared/credited to the account. I think that Waltonwood was hoping that we would just forget about it. My loved one experienced a good amount of theft from Waltonwood staff. They would come into her apartment at night and steel food, wine, and liquor. The staff is supposed to check residents on a regular schedule. Often, at night they would just walk into the apartment and push the notification button proving that they were there, but did not checking on my loved one -- I confronted the director after witnessing this one evening (the night staff did not know that I was spending the night) and he CYAed himself and the staff. A camera was installed to prove the theft and lack/neglect of contracted services. My loved one was scolded by the director for having a camera and a 'surveillance' sign was hung on the apartment door. My loved one passed recently and we were not allowed into the facility to remove belongings. Once we were allowed to return (2 months after death) we found that the locked apartment had been gone through, furniture rearranged, boxed clothing had been opened, and close to $1k in property (that we know of) was missing. The director and above have gone through the list of who is to blame for the missing items -- blaming everyone but themselves. The director refuses to investigate the theft with their staff. A police report was been filed. Don't be fooled by the fancy dining room and white table clothes.

My mother has lived in Waltonwood Providence in assisted living since October 2016. She died on April 13, 2020 from non-covid 19 causes. Waltonwood Providence imposed a lock down of the facility due to Covid-19 on March 26th. This meant we were not allowed to remove her personal possessions from her apartment until June 16, 2020. Her apartment was supposedly locked and safe during this interval. During the moving process I discovered that her manual wheelchair, Drive rollator, and aluminum walker were missing. I reported the theft to the executive director and the regional manager for Singh properties (owner of Waltonwood Providence).. The executive director tried to blame the Hospice equipment providers for the theft, implying that more medical equipment was picked up on April 27th than belonged to them. I contacted Hospice and received the list of the actual equipment picked up by the provider with the signature of a Waltonwood Providence staff member on the pick up form. Only the hospital bed, bed table, and oxygen concentrator and tanks were removed by the Hospice equipment provider. Since Waltonwood Providence has not allowed anyone into the facility except staff and some caregivers since March 26, 2020, the facility was solely responsible for the safety of my mother's property. I can only conclude that one or more of the staff members stole the equipment from my mother's apartment during the 2 month interval since her death. I filed a police report concerning the theft. Both the executive director and the regional manager held firm to the belief that the equipment provider took the medical devices even though I sent copies of the pick up report with the Waltonwood Providence staff member's signature to them. I question the professional integrity of the management and staff of Waltonwood Providence. If anyone is considering moving a loved one into Waltonwood Providence assisted living, I would highly suggest talking to current residents before you make a decision and not be swayed by the looks of the facility and the all the fluff words about gourmet meals, excellence in care, and other services provided.
