My 88 year old Dad has been there one month and I could not be happier! Staff on all levels are very friendly and have addressed my questions and concerns immediately. There are opportunities for the residents to go out on supervised trips and I was thrilled that my Dad went out to a local steakhouse with some of the other residents. His room is spacious and clean and the food is plentiful and served hot and snacks are always accessible for the residents. There are times that Dad calls me at night and has a concern. I have been able to call the facility - even in the middle of the night - and the phone is answered by the second ring and they check on him for me! I have great peace of mind with Dad living in this facility! Thank you, Meadowmont!

When it wasn't convenient for the management to keep my mother in their dementia unit they 'hospital dumped' her. After 4 years and nearly $300,000 in fees they sent her to the emergency room with trumped up cause and then discharged her the same day. My sweet 90 year old mother, with dementia and in a wheel chair with no place to go. Management here is ruthless and uncaring. The only reason they get one star is the immediate CNA's and MedTech's were always very kind to her. Don't for a minute trust that management won't do what is best for them and not the resident. Also this is an 'a la cart' facility which means they get you in at a low dollar but quickly increase fees 10-15% annually. In four years there were five different executive directors and the only leadership they could come up with is 'hospital dumping'. The docs at UNC emergency room told me this isn't unusual for this facility. BEWARE AND STAY AWAY. This facility is a long way from the old 'Carolina House'.

My Mom has been at Brookdale Meadowmont for 6 years now. We have always found the care excellent, first in the assisted living part, and now memory care. Although there has been some turnover in staff, which is common in the home health care business, all of the staff at Brookdale have been, and continue to be caring, helpful and supportive.
