I moved my mother out of her lifelong home and into The Gables of Brighton in early March 2020. The Gables was highly recommended to me, but before I did, I met with the Sales Manager, toured the facility, ate dinner in their dining room, and talked to as many of the staff members and residents as I could. I found an up-to-date facility that was clean, warm, inviting and designed to provide homey spaces for individual, small group and large group gatherings. The dining room is large with ample natural lighting. Table linens, menu choices and individual service give it a true restaurant feel, and the food is excellent. The Sales Manager worked closely with me, personally introduced me to key staff members, thoroughly explained the lease and options available and then went the extra mile to ensure that we could get my mother moved in quickly. The one-bedroom apartment was renovated, clean and move in ready. The staff at The Gables are all genial professionals dedicated to promoting and maintaining the quality of life of every resident. The residents are friendly, caring, and interactive, which makes a big difference. The transition for a senior moving into a new living situation takes time and adjustments, and the staff at The Gables have been there every step of the way. In my mothers situation, the normal transition has been complicated by the Covid-19 pandemic. The prompt, compassionate and thorough response of the staff have kept my mother safe and healthy. My mother loves her new apartment and has settled in very nicely. I am convinced that she is living in one of the best senior living facilities in the Rochester area.

Apartment 2001 S ClintonManagement wanted to know why I left. This all stems from the fact that what was told to me would be done, wasn't done, and each of the 3 woman in your management team, made incorrect statements to me, and set me up to be very disappointed in this supposedly independent living home. Which is filled with half of the people that cant take of themself. Upon moving in this is what I got, that I should not have had to deal with. Which was very upsetting, you were to make this a helpful transition, not a horrible experience.Shower head holder brokenDirty vent in bedroom, kitchenDust webs and bugs on upper top of windowsBees between screen and glass of windowbathroom wall near toilet dirtyKitchen folding door filthy and wall where table goesWoodwork dirtyKitchen and bathroom floors filthy, washed 5 times with steam floor washer, still cleaner pad is dirty. This is the new floors that were supposed to be replaced. That you said you had an invoice for. So she must have been taken, because there was no new flooring in that bathroom or kitchen. After thatCalled about bees no one cameCalled about the cold air from heat, no one came or explainedCalled about shower, Mike came and replaced it with a shower head that I had bought for my last aptToilet paper holder loose, Mike fixed it, he also cleaned one of the ventsCan't open windows, disgusting that you have to call for help to open windows. So I leave one open all the time.8Apt not painted, touched up only, missed many spotsPlug in bathroom sink snapped, front desk receptionist put it back together. It's to tight, now water goes down to slow.Whoever did patchwork to cover holes, needs to be taught how to do plaster work. I could do a better job myself with my eyes closed.Seems as though everything that is maintenance related is done half assed (excuse my language) but that's exactly how it looks.Who ever took the responsibility to say that this apt was livable, has no concept of what he or she is doing, so that's another person who doesn't know what he or she is doing. And that was the maintenance manager. I sure don't want to see what they live in. And you just brush me off without any remorse, I've been told you would get back to me on three separate occasions, I'm still waiting.I'm only one pea in a pot of peas, but that doesn't mean I should be ignored.Heat continues to blow out cold air all the time, I shut it off at night.Dining room vents loaded with black dust on out side. Food and service was terrible, has improved. Dinning room, asked for it to be cleanen Cooks dont know how to use a meat thermometer, cooks claim they have to cook meat throughly. Black beef brisket, black prime rib, then there is burnt soup, burnt pizza that had no meat or cheese on it because it was all black. Under cooked cookies, dont like raw centers. Weekend seem to be the worst, some improvement shown but, cooks should know how to cook, some of the food served, I wouldnt give to my worst enemy.

Before deciding to move here you must try out their dinning room service and food first. Its far from restaurant style dinning and the food is not, at most time, edible. If its was a restaurant they would be out of business in a month easy. Don't take my word for it; have dinner there, try 2nd seating time slot at 6:15 pm; seeing is believing. When residents complain nothing changes ;there stuck with it because most cant pick up and move. I would not recommend living here if you want resort style living.
