Sands Point Center for Health & Rehabilitation

I recently was a patient at Sands Point and must say it was a very unique experience....I arrivedby an ambutete from St. Francis Hospital. and was quick;y transported & received. Iwas there (with a broken hip & in a lot of pain...I received fast and ((quite gentle (as possible} installation to my bed & the necessities I needed at that time)...I was there about 5 weeks.My care was kind, friendly & personal. Staff was very effecient & made you feel imprortant..not always as quickly as one would like but there were a lot of us!..The overnight Aides seemed more likely to 'take their time' in fetching & transporting..but the Nurses on duty were Top Notch!!My favorites were Two Aides..Jocelyn & Faye whom I actually became quite fond of....they genuinely CARED! BUT..my very FAVORITES were the EXPERTS EiLENE, ANDREW. CAROL & NICOLE!!!! had Fun with the Work.The whole staff there work with a real attitude of caring & success!!A nod to Mike & James too...made the 'ride' more pleasant!!Of course credit goes to their (beautiful) leader (whose name I'm embarrasesd not to know)....and the general atmosphere of that department...KUDOS TO YOU ALL..I'[LL never forget you!!

Mom had to stay here after her hospital stay for the short term. This is a very quiet, peaceful facility with great staff. Their head social worker is AMAZING. She is competent, responsive, and never forgets to return a call to keep family informed. I would have lost my mind if not for Heather Campbell Chaffer. Your loved one's care is in good hands with her to be sure.

A clean facility. The staff is not very empathetic to the residents. I have witnessed staff arguing loudly with one another, and laughing at some residents inability to do certain things. Compassion for the elderly would be most helpful in this type of career.

My mom was here twice for rehab. The staff is on top of everything. They are friendly and courteous, and really take care of the patients. The rehab here is great, they got my mother up and walking again. Would highly recommend this place.

If I had a choice of sending someone I disliked dearly, I would definitely send him/her to this place. Not 100% sure if the weekend staff is much different than the weekday staff but I've only been here weekends. Staff? Barely get a response when you say hello to them. The few times I had to ask for some sort of assistance or guidance I get an attitude from them as if I was asking them to do back flips for me.But what make me very uncomfortable with this place is that one day I came to see someone (who I have no authority over otherwise I would have moved her/him out the 2nd day of being here), 15mins after getting here, the other person in the room asked me to find someone to change her diaper, I went to the nurse and she told me she already knew and will get to her soon... 30mins later someone finally came to assist the person, total time? At least 45mins waiting for a diaper change...!!No SYMPATHY shown by their staff..!!
