I moved my parents into Bishop Commons in November 2018. This was not an easy decision as both of my parents were extremely independent people that took great pride in and loved their home. My father was not in great physical health and my mother was battling dementia. It had become a safety concern and it was time. The staff made the transition go as well as it possibly could go. The facilities are newer, clean and it is a beautiful setting overlooking the Oswego river which was a huge selling point for my father. It has been a great fit. Unfortunately my mother passed in April of 2019. Since then the staff has made my father feel at home. He has told me on 4 separate occasions how happy he is there. He has nothing to worry about anymore except deciding what he wants to eat for each meal. Compared to other facilities we visited before making this decision the apartments here were the closest feeling to home we found. The peace of mind myself and my siblings have knowing that he is well cared for and safe is not something easily measured. Bishop Commons is a Unique living arrangement and the connection and proximity to St Francis and St Lukes offer us many options if and when my fathers needs change. We trust the people completely with the care of our father and that is the biggest recommendation I can make.

The staff is fantastic. Everyone form the nurses, administrators, aides, and others really care for the residents and make them feel that Bishop Commons is their home. The facility is clean and beautiful and the food is great!

Before my parents moved to Bishop Commons they were still living in their house and unable to keep up with daily chores and maintenance. They lived 2 hours away from me and I was worried about their safety because of their medical problems. After they moved in to Bishop Commons I had peace of mind knowing they were in a safe place and had help available when needed. The Bishop Commons staff was very welcoming and helped make it a smooth transition. Being close by I could visit them often and see how wonderful the staff interacted with them. The staff kept me informed of their health, administered their medications and transported them to doctor appointments. This spring my mother had to move next door to St. Lukes due to medical problems. Bishop Commons provided transportation for my father enabling him to visit her. Several of the staff from Bishop Commons visited her there as well. My mother passed away this summer and the staff showed great compassion and understanding for my father. Bishop Commons was a wonderful place for my parents to live and continues to be so for my father.

My sister has been a resident at B.S. for a few years and she loves it there The staff is admirable. The chef, waiters, aids, food and dinning room are excellent - love the soups. The cleaning staff & personal aids are dedicated and personable The daily events are what you would want, interesting, with visiting preschool children, college interns entertaining the residents. The staff has the understanding of each resident of their capability to participate or not to. Rooms are comfortably sized and very well kept clean. Facility, grounds and parking lot are what youd expect from a first class hotel.Ive reserved my room for 2025 or 2026
