I am writing this because of the Atria director Velma, as a director you are suppose to professional and treat your employees with respect she has none of those. Number 1 when you say Goodmorning to her she does not acknowledge you, number 2 she is rude to the employees in front of the clients and other co workers, number 3 if she has something to say to you she says it behind your back, I can go on with this but she needs to change her ways and be more respectful towards people. Also shes very rasicts.

An assisted living facility tucked in a rather bucolic setting a stones throw from the LIRR and highway. Many of the clients don't seem to need much assisting as everybody seemed about their business. I was there to do clinicals for an aid certificate and i got to play family feud with some of the clients and I'm afraid I seemed more challenged than they were. These folks seemed to be enjoying life quite well. They must be giving aging and death a rum for its money. If I could do as well.

When both of my parents moved in in 2010 I would have given it 4 stars. Eight years and at least 4 directors later, the place is going downhill fast. Plus they have increased my mother's (who is alone now since my father passed in 2012) rent so that she pays double of what she paid 8 years ago. Not a justified increase as they don't do anything more than they did a year ago. In fact I am paying extra money for my mother to be bathed a few times a week and many times they show up so late that she's in bed already and can't be bothered. Right now I am looking for an alternative for her. She's 90 and deteriorating fast, but I don't feel she's getting the care she needs over there. The food has also gone downhill from actually pretty ok in 2010 to barely palatable now. Not a happy camper today.

Unfortunately the Atria has standards for ambulation that my family member could not meet, but Judy P. took the time to sit down with us and discuss other options, and even took the time to call an assisted living facility to arrange for us to go and take a tour. Judy is such a friendly and helpful woman and such a relief in a difficult and stressful time.

Inattentive staff. Rampant stealing and nonchalant attitude even when the family visits the residents.
